ironic, indeed. but she supposes that can be likened to hiyori thinking she wanted to be a doctor but then getting a case of cold feet about it that she needed yato's advice. she's happy that it made him happy to give advice, but she was no closer to figuring out what to do. ]

It really is quite a bit like that, where he's feeling lost and unsure of himself with his regular job of ayakashi-slayer being off the table as an option. Though he's kind of surprised to hear her being the one to offer him job advice. It's... sweet.]

It did, but I didn't exactly get much outside of romance cases and the odd lost pet. Felt like I was back to square one at home, honestly. So I thought I'd try more stable jobs, but then like I said, I got restless. I dunno what I should do...

You have to endure through it, Yato. Everyone has felt like you have, once. You can't change jobs just because you feel restless or you'll keep switching constantly. It'll turn into a bad habit.

I'm just not used to consistency of any kind, y'know? Most of my shinki never stayed long, my jobs were always variable and short-term... You and Yukine are the most constant presences in my life right now.

If it's any consolation, I didn't like realizing it either. There was a point in medical school when I thought about switching majors, too.
