If anyone has received a green beetle they would like to sell, please let me know. I'm not sure I can offer as much as you could elsewhere, but these creatures would be a big benefit to all of us. I would like to set them up in the greenhouse and gardens in Okinawa to help facilitate plant growth, and harvest the groves. They would be a huge help in growing food for us all.

Think of it this way: the more food we can grow, the less ration bars we need to eat.

Get them acquainted with the base greenhouse first before releasing them at Okinawa.

They need to be trained to stay within the grounds.

I was thinking of doing that, yes. I am hoping we can get the greenhouse in Okinawa done so they can work in there, and stay safe from predators by themselves.

Are you only gonna put them in the greenhouse or let them roam around the entire orchard fields?

[It's more risk the latter, but more profit if it succeeds. Plus they have to make sure their beetles can fight off the crabs. Luckily those are the only really known predators.

Only in the greenhouse, otherwise the groves when I or someone else is there to keep an eye on them.

Sure. We have a gardening project going in Okinawa. Once the greenhouse there is completed and secured, we can let the green beetles live there. The others might have to go elsewhere. Can't risk the red ones burning the place down when we're not there.

That's a very long story. But that's where we were not long before you and the other new people arrived. It was a very difficult experience, to say the least.

do people know how long construction is going to take before it's done? is there any call for volunteers to help with it? you're right, self-sufficiency with food is just as important as defending the city.

Construction will be as long as it takes for us to find the time and materials to finish it. I've been sourcing a lot of the materials in junk yards and second hand shops. And volunteers are always welcome. There is always a lot to be done. We visited last year, and the existing groves and wildlife had been affected by rift energy, but have not been corrupted or poisoned by it. They're grown very large. I thought it would be a good idea to take advantage of this.

If not gardening, then there is fishing to be done, and crabs to be hunted.

People were grievously injured and corrupted, or fell ill. But everyone made it out alive. It's a miracle.

that's right, that kind. Do you plan to keep it? Even if you do, once the greenhouse we're building in Okinawa is complete, it would be great if I could borrow it. They make fantastic little gardeners. Seems things grow faster around them, and they can be taught to harvest crops.

They do seem to eat a lot, don't they. I hope they don't eat too much of the food they'll be harvesting.

Thanks. I appreciate it. Once the greenhouse in Okinawa is ready to go, I'll let you know. In the meanwhile, you can put him in the base's greenhouse and see how he does. That's what I plan to do.

I'm sure you can keep it in a terrarium if you like. They're pretty low maintenance.

If someone isn't sure whether or not they're corrupted, can you tell? Is it a drain on you to check or purify them to be sure?

I can. Since I'm still recovering, it's harder for me, but I should be able to tell if they're in my presence.

Is there someone you think needs it? If so, would they be open to being purified or might they resist?

Yes, me. I can't claim to be familiar with any symptoms in myself personally, but after everything that happened, I'd rather not take any chances.

Still, if it's a drain on you to check, I'd consider it not at all urgent.

That's probably a good idea too. Perhaps we can put a green and blue together and see how they do. I'm hoping the fighting is only something they do under coercion. I'd like to make sure they get along before we put them in the greenhouse.
