I don't think they were denied anything though? I'm pretty sure they chose to stick around, but again I don't know. I didn't get to actually talk to them about it.

Most souls choose to stay in the world of the living if given the chance.
This is why there is an afterlife and a god watching over it, to prevent it from happening.
I feel like the state of your world may be dire...

The closest thing to a "god" I know of back home was a so-called demon that gave evil armor to an ancestor. And even that I doubt was an actual demon.
