[This video starts with one silver-haired girl sitting prim and proper on a floor cushion. Behind her a studio just freshly scrubbed and waxed glints behind her. She’s looking a little resigned, somewhat downcast, but after a second of squaring her shoulders and mustering her chin up she finally decides to speak.]

Good evening.

With the recent surge of newcomers I felt it prudent to introduce myself in a way that would be accessible to everyone. I am Yui Shousetsu, from Everlight. Please do not hesitate to reach out to me for assistance on most matters.

[Now that she’s got that out of the way—]

I also would like to mention that I have begun a position as lead trainer at a martial arts dojo here in the city and the owner was kind enough to allow me to advertise its opening here. Of course we have the training arena for more robust battle simulations, but for those interested in sharpening your senses in a more rustic environment then please know we are always accepting new members.

[She tucks a strand of hair behind her ear.]

Bear in mind that on certain days we hold classes for children which is available on our calendar. If anyone is interested in volunteering or working part-time to assist in lessons then please feel free to notify me. It would be greatly appreciated.

... lastly, the owner has requested I include this message.

[As she pulls out a slip of paper from her sleeve.]

... "If you know what is good for you, you'll ditch the fancy schmancy gadgets and join our prestigious studio. Come with fire in your hearts so I can beat your ragged bodies until they shine like sharpened diamonds."

[Hmmmmmm... ok. Shousetsu lowers the paper and her head.]

[So... she has been with this human for that long? As his equal? Lady Irisviel mentioned he was brought into her family but to maintain that relationship for so long? Was it even possible for beings like them?

Perhaps we should start here. As impertinent as it may seem, I will readily admit that my previous experiences with mages were less than favorable.

Please forgive me, Lord Emiya.

( If he's being honest, Yui's response is hardly surprising. Kiritsugu was too aware of how mages could be, treating humans-- even their own children, as disposable. He thinks back to Acht's treatment of Iri. How he'd callously discarded her into the disposal yard all those years ago, when he'd rushed into the blistering cold to fish her out of the snow. He'd often considered killing Acht himself, running away from the castle with his wife in tow. She'd encouraged him not to. To go along with the Einzberns plans for the grail, to give meaning to her painfully short life. He respected her wishes, despite how often he regretted his decision. Knowing what he does now was simply a proverbial knife to the chest. )

Of course. After spending so long with weak Iori, I know very well how to hold myself back against the average human. I may not have required this sort of training in during my life, but I no longer see it as meaningless. Diligent training is a way to strengthen not only your body, but also your spirit.

[ that's what they were able to notice in their time with iori, who honed his skills like a blacksmith works on his blade. carefully, with an almost superhuman dedication. shousetsu's own lifestyle, though rigid in some ways, also served as proof of this.

they give a hearty nod, and continue. ]

Besides, I see no reason not to be enthusiastic. We have made a truce, have we not? Therefore, I believe this is a great way of working together without the dangers of the Waxing Moon Ritual hanging over our heads like an omen.

[Conversing with Saber lately is like interacting with an incredibly wary cat-- in the way one experiences the heightened anxiety of saying the wrong thing, making the wrong move. Even with their agreed truce there is a strange gnawing guilt that claws at her each time they speak... perhaps she ought to talk to them about that in the most transparent way possible.

I agree. I am glad to know you share the same sentiments. I will keep an eye out for the time you decide to pay us a visit.

[And then a pause.]

It is rather amusing, to hear someone refer to Lord Iori as weak. That privilege belongs to only you, Saber.

That's quite the message from the owner.

[She doesn't know what she expected to hear but it wasn't that. Still, she doesnt seem particularly surprised or moved by it. Her expression's a little too friendly to be called neutral or impassive, but it's closer to that than not.]

I'd think you'll get a few new members looking to put that comment to the test.

[Not her, but others she's sure.]

Somehow I didn't anticipate anyone would reply to it right away... but it seems it does hold its own tenacity.

[She just hopes it doesn't come off as too intimidating, but what can ya do. Grandpas gonna grandpa.]

But perhaps it may encourage potential clients regardless.

I think so, to some I'm sure it's very encouraging. Not to me, no offense, I'm not really the type for this sort of thing.

[She's not a train or fight with others kind of person. Yes, sometimes she has to here, but it's not her ideal and certainly not something she wants to pursue in her off time.]

I think both approaches work well to bring in different types of people though. Both yours and the owner's. It's a good way to ensure all bases are covered.

I want to do more training! It's been a while since I was able to do it formally like that.

Of course. Were you part of a dojo before? Or a type of fighting school?

A fighting school, something like that! But my grandpa taught me some stuff before that, too.

[ Shizuka recognizes the face as someone she is both curious about and respects, so she couldn't just ignore it like the usual network post. She almost replied with a video in kind, taking a moment to reconsider before just sending a text response ]

The sensei has a good sense of humor.

[ Because yeah, Shizuka is definitely taking that as a joke. She respect the fact the sensei has guts though. Still, straight to business: ]

I suppose he does... although sometimes I wonder if he's being genuine or simply joking. He has a certain intensity to him that makes it hard to decipher.

[ Shizuka didn't reply, instead just showing up at the dojo's location probably a little too fast. It didn't even take a significant amount of minutes before a knock from her interrupts whatever atmosphere is going on in the dojo currently. ]

[ Shizuka just automatically assumes it's Shousetsu that's going to answer the door. She just stands there, waiting, with two swords on her hip and arms crossed impatiently. ]

Does someone need to be knowledgeable in a certain style of martial arts to volunteer or work a part-time position? I know a lot of the basics and I would like to help out. And I'm willing to learn whatever I don't know.

[He's been thinking about looking for a part-time job for awhile now, but nothing has really stuck out to him before now. This would also be a good way for him to train and also help others.]

All we ask is a small measure of commitment to commuting and arriving when need be. Some knowledge, of course, is always beneficial but considering we are also a teaching dojo perhaps this might be of use to you as well.

Okay then. That sounds pretty reasonable. I would like to apply for the position. Is there an application I need to fill out?
