is food shortage really that big of a problem for us? i'm not questioning that it's an issue, but why do we seemingly get short more quickly? is it because we don't have the same exposure to the kaiju as the locals do?

That or the overhead on summoning dead men, gods and a collection of giant robots every two months means they're not spending resources on growing rice.

Plus everything got destroyed earlier this year too, didn't it? They were summoning people in the capital when I showed up because of a disaster.

they need us compliant. if the healing resources are low, that forces us to work with one another. it could also be a distraction. if we're always keeping an eye out for one another, we could be missing bigger clues that we'd notice otherwise.
