Good afternoon, all.

If we have not yet become acquainted, then please, allow me to introduce myself. I am Sebastian Michaelis, another recently arrived Outsider, and most pertinent for why I make this address today, recently employed on LILITH’s base here in Neo-Tokyo. My official title is the kitchen manager for the cafeteria, but as needs must, I have taken on some additional responsibilities. I may not be in service to my lord here, but I still feel it important to best offer my skill as a butler.

First, on matters of food.

I am attempting to improve the menu on offer in the cafeteria, and I hope that anyone that has stopped by to try the improved offerings in recent weeks has enjoyed them. However, I would very much like to expand such offerings. If there is a particular dish that you find yourself missing, please, do let me know. I will endeavor to recreate it with your assistance, though I can make no guarantees. If you have a recipe I can follow, all the better.

Second, on matters of facility maintenance.

While our automated services are adequate, I do believe that the order and cleanliness of the base could be improved. Thus, the additional responsibilities I have taken on. If you find any part of the base in disrepair or would perhaps like your personal quarters cleaned regularly, please let me know. It would be my pleasure to do so, as a tidy home makes for happier people.

If you would like a full list of services I offer, I would be glad to provide it. I simply fear that this is already a rather long announcement.

Regardless, yes, I am quite serious. The amount that this is being questioned makes me very concerned for the treatment the Outsiders have received so far. Is it really so suspicious?

Indeed it has not. It is one of the first things I noticed after arriving, I must admit. It is perhaps why I was hired as a kitchen manager in the first place, as I took it upon myself to improve matters...

The egg "substitutes" are not as bad as I feared, but in principle, I agree that it is a poor showing. Why, even in famine, keeping fowl is not so difficult, so it really is a testament to how troubling this situation is.

Regardless. I have only just started, so I cannot promise anything, but I have been reaching out to what suppliers LILITH already has contact with. If not truly fresh meat and eggs, I was hoping that I may at least be able to negotiate a favorable agreement with the "lab grown" alternatives.

It would be my pleasure.

Japanese cuisine is the one I have been focused on at present, for obvious reasons. My style tends towards French, so it has been exciting indeed to explore a new palate and techniques.

So, it may be a treat, since the eggs will be expensive... But I will add at least a few to the month's budget so that I can fulfill your request.

Since I am rather ignorant of the dish, does it come in any particular style you prefer?

A crêpe, yes. That I shall have no problem with, and indeed, they are simple enough at a base that I could make one now, in fact. Though when you reference "swirly stuff", that is the more difficult part. Any additional flavoring is more difficult... But a bit of brown sugar alone is delicious and doable.

I shall remember your request for the tamagoyaki as well. Do excuse me if it takes a bit of time, however! I am still in the process of learning, but a stock also seems an excellent place to start.

May I call upon you to be my taste tester from time to time, perhaps?

Oh, I don't know. How about what he is? How about what he can do? That is lying by omission.

He may be offering his services now, but what about when he slips someone in under the radar, and starts doing what he always does? Calling him "not a liar" disregards the fact that he will not tell the truth.

There is also an onus to be placed on those who deliberately choose not to question what has been offered to them. It is not solely his responsibility to tell-all. If one does not ask the proper questions, it is not him simply lying by omission. It is their failure to show caution.

Besides, lying by omission requires a conversation to revolve around the nature of his being. They are just talking about his learned skills. Are you about to champion people, Silco? You?

I'm not about to champion these fools, don't worry. I just think we should not be giving Sebastian the extra... leg up as it was. Why not make it a little harder, actually work to bring them around to their side.

Why aren't we giving him a proper challenge? Isn't that enrichment for him?
