[ Still, it's quite a bit, so the kids aren't in such a dire situation anymore. ]
Focus on the calendar. I will attend to the children along with other Outsiders who have a keen interest in running the orphanage.

[Last thing they'd need happening is the survivors growing up with a sense of revenge for mistreatment.]
Gotcha. Though if you need a hand, lemme know. I'm sure I can find the time necessary.

[ For as long as Ratio is here to watch over them, anyhow. Hopefully, LILITH and the rest of the planet will get their shit together by the time he leaves. ]
You are always welcome to drop by and play with them should you ever feel the inclination. The more adults they interact with, the better.

[One can only hope at this rate, honestly. Things are looking pretty bleak after the last couple of missions. Especially with how he let his own rage get the better of him in Brasov. That's the reason for his next message's delay and the fumbling of words.]
I
I don't think that'd be appropriate. They shouldn't have to put up with someone who struck down their family. Thanks for the offer, though.

[ Revenge by other means though... well, they would have to be clever enough to get at LILITH, and if they were to pull it off successfully, at least it will have been done through wits.
It's unlikely they'll grow to be truly well-adjusted, but at least they won't be alone. They have each other. ]
Is that not the case for all of us? Even if I did not personally kill any villagers, I am still an accomplice. To the children, it may very well be the same as committing the deed myself.

[That's the part that pisses him off most - that their parents opted to follow a path that left their children bearing such a harsh and painful burden for the rest of their lives. Surely they could've managed without appealing to a kaiju, right...?]
You may be right. Perhaps it's just my own selfishness that doesn't want to bear the burden of their struggles. In that case I'll be sure to drop by from time to time to see how they're doing and to help where I can. I owe them that much.

[ It's likely the parents were once children who didn't know any better. Who knew how many generations that kaiju spent grooming the entire town? But now that the cycle had been broken by their hand, it was their responsibility to ensure the children would be sent down the correct path. ]
They may not appreciate your presence initially, but in time I am certain they will warm up to you.

[Hopefully they can still do some good in the children's lives even after everything that's happened. There's a lot about the outside world they could learn to broaden their horizons and teach them that the way they were raised isn't the only option to life.]
Heh, I hope so. It's not a pleasant feeling, being feared. It gets old after a while.
