@shiro
Did you know there's a museum not far from this base? You can see quite a few treasures on display. I went back for the first time in a long time. Imagine my surprise when I realized one of those treasures was missing...
It doesn't matter if it's a grave, a shrine, or the emperor's treasure chest... thieves will really steal from any place, huh? I wonder what else is lost in this world...
Ah, well, where ever I am, I'm sure I'll be surprised.
( Suddenly he's talking about himself? For those who know him, it makes perfect sense. )
Anyway, what treasures are in your world? If you can tell me a good story, I might give you a surprise.

@MONSTER
but i could tell you about some cursed tools?
those are kind of like treasures to jujutsu sorcerers.
like black rope or the inverted spear of heaven.

But I don't know much about the former so tell me about your favorite one.
no subject
but unlike cursed objects, they really aren't. cursed tools can actually be very helpful!
for example, if i had to pick a favorite then i would pick the glasses my classmate had that allowed her to see curses.
you see, not everyone can perceive them, but because she had those she could become a jujutsu sorcerer and fight them.
we might never have met if she hadn't had those.

A pair of glasses that let you see curses?
That sounds really impressive.
I wonder what she'd see if she went to a museum... you know, there are a lot of old spirits behind those cases.
no subject
but she doesn't actually need the glasses anymore, she can see just like the rest of us jujutsu sorcerers now.
i'm used to places like schools and hospitals having curses, but i could certainly imagine them manifesting in a museum too.
a place with that much history... i don't doubt there are many lingering spirits, that makes sense.

Are schools in your world really that cursed?
no subject
it's just that, at least in my world, curses tend to settle in places that many people have negative memories of.
with things like bullying happening... schools make sense, no?
going to school isn't a pleasant time for plenty of kids.
[ Speaking from very personal experience there, maybe. ]

( He's never been. )
There was once a time when going to school was a privilege.
And it's supposed to be an amazing place for children.
... I always thought it sounded kind of boring, though.

when i'm from, education is compulsory in japan so children don't really have much of a choice.
kids can be pretty mean to each other and if you have to go back to a bad situation day after day...
well, the negative emotions pile up and curses are born.
but it can also be pretty boring, yes. (´∇`'')
no subject
( Kids being mean to each other day after day until the whole experience became miserable? )

[ WHY ARE PEOPLE ALWAYS CLOCKING THAT SO FAST?? Also, unfortunately for him, he's too honest to lie when asked directly like this. ]
yes, most of it was like that.
i was going to a better school for the past year and a half before i came here though.
but i guess studying to become a jujutsu sorcerer can't really be compared to normal education.

I'm glad you ended up in a better school.
But if you ever have any questions about studies, you can ask me.
I've been around since the Heian era so I know a lot!
Oh, but don't ask me about boring things, okay?
no subject
[ Because it's true!! 😭 ]
thank you, tsurumaru-san!
that's very kind of you.
would asking things about history or swords be too boring?
[ Just to check. They're the two subjects that feel the most relevant to what he's studying now, but maybe that's considered boring if Tsurumaru is so familiar with those?? ]

My duty is to make sure history is preserved.
The best way to protect is to make sure it's shared.
And I'm always happy to talk about my friends, too.
no subject
but that's good to hear!
then i'll be sure to come to you. (˶ᵔ ᵕ ᵔ˶)
i'd love to hear all about your friends too!
