@shiro

Did you know there's a museum not far from this base? You can see quite a few treasures on display. I went back for the first time in a long time. Imagine my surprise when I realized one of those treasures was missing...

It doesn't matter if it's a grave, a shrine, or the emperor's treasure chest... thieves will really steal from any place, huh? I wonder what else is lost in this world...

Ah, well, where ever I am, I'm sure I'll be surprised.

( Suddenly he's talking about himself? For those who know him, it makes perfect sense. )

Anyway, what treasures are in your world? If you can tell me a good story, I might give you a surprise.

You have my sympathies if nothing else. This world's version being missing won't effect "you" though, will it?

And essentially, yes. The Wisdom Cube that serves as our soul needs a tangible existence to awaken a KAN-SEN, normally. The Cube takes human collective memory of a vessel with a notable past and makes us. The Watatsumi bypassed that requirement entirely. The girls it awakened were no less KAN-SEN than the rest of us, but there was no human memory used in their birth.

I don't think anyone was entirely sure about how it did that. Well maybe Yamato, she seemed clued in on a lot of things the rest of us started finding out only recently, but you can never be sure with her.

What's that feel like, being connected to another version? If it's not too prying.

Both "Kaga"s in this world are on the bottom of the ocean but I only know that from history. There's nothing outside of legacy that connects me to them.
