Now, more than ever, I become convinced that all disappearances are linked. This is the obvious conclusion.
[ So the thing is, rifts have always been a thing here, but previously they seemed to only be connected to the kaiju, but now it's seeming like they have some kind of sway beyond them, or something is different about them? The nature thereof sort of makes him think of his vault/pocket dimension and he wonders if everyone who vanished is somewhere like that.
But, of course, if the kaiju are within the rifts and it's a sort of primordial monster sea, also like certain places with which he's familiar, they had probably best get to the heart of the matter sooner rather than later. ]
