[Everyone has to know. Some saw what happens to Ereshkigal during the fight, some only know that she disappeared. As the one responsible, Taryon feels he's deserved the position on breaking the bad news to ll Outsiders.]

It is with a heavy heart that I must relay to you all that our friend Ereshkigal is not with us any longer.

She was thrown into a Rift by the kaiju and vanished.

She fought valiantly and tried to protect me even in her last moments.

I'm sorry. I wish we didn't suffer such a heavy loss in this fight.

Do you have the kaiju leather? It's supposed to protect us from the Rift. If she's in there, she's going to be incredibly ill.

no, this is the first I've heard of it. is that something new? if so, maybe we could toss some of it into a few rifts in the hopes it'll reach her

There are some nomads around here that use kaiju parts to protect themselves. Students at the university are researching which kaiju make good protection and which don't. I have a few we can toss in.

But she might not be close enough or well enough to pick it up.

makes sense given the damn things come from within the rifts. I hope their research goes smoothly so we might be able to better withstand the effects of being near rifts. hell, if we could traverse them, then we could send in a search party for Eresh!

maybe not, but it's better than assuming nothing will reach her. I once got trapped in a hellish place and knowing my friends were trying to save me gave me the strength to hang in there. it could be the same for her

What if we were to use our communication devices while in the rift? Surely it will work if we are on the same plane.

It's true in my world, that is. These implants work on a farther range than most magic, too.
