Hey. This is Dante. You've probably seen me around base, even if we haven't actually talked (trust me).

Since we've just had some new people arrive, I figured now would be as good a time as any to put this out there. I'm not sure if anyone would be interested, but one of my duties back home was to have one-to-one consultation sessions with the employees in our department (still is, technically). It's nothing too earth-shattering, just checking in and helping work through anything anyone needs to get off their shoulders, but I thought I'd offer since it seems to help us out and I know things here can get rough sometimes.

Oh, and there's no pressure to reply here if you'd rather have privacy. I've also got a sign-up sheet on my door (Revelation, room 006), if you'd rather set something up that way. Just make sure to show up at the time you pick.

If you have any questions, feel free to ask.

And, um, thanks, but I'm doing pretty good right now! And I'm sure I'll be fine for awhile, so you don't need to worry about me. I can take it.

And I bet that's what more than a few people here have said. But you know, you can't help others if you don't see to your own health first. I'm sure there's something, there always is.

I won't press any further if you don't want to. Just remember that we're all here to help each other, so I can't help but worry!

Hm... Tell you what: if I ever think it's starting to feel a little much, I'll make sure I find someone to talk to. How does that sound? I'll make sure I don't forget anyone's offer.

So, have you had anyone take you up on your offer so far?

I think so.

And a few people who are pretty hesitant about the idea. I can't blame them, though. It's not like everyone knows me, after all.

Yes, that would make more than a few hesitant, wouldn't it. Telling someone they barely know all of their troubles can be uncomfortable. But the anonymity could help make it a little easier to open as well.

It's also likely the first time a lot of them have ever been offered something like therapy. At least, I haven't seen anything being offered here on a more professional level yet. Have you?

Not really... Though I'm still not sure that that's what I'm doing.

It certainly sounds like it is to me.

Listening to other people's problems? It must come naturally to you if you're offering to do just that.

It *is* part of the job. And I wouldn't say it comes naturally. But I'd like to think I've gotten better at it over time.
