Good afternoon, all.

If we have not yet become acquainted, then please, allow me to introduce myself. I am Sebastian Michaelis, another recently arrived Outsider, and most pertinent for why I make this address today, recently employed on LILITH’s base here in Neo-Tokyo. My official title is the kitchen manager for the cafeteria, but as needs must, I have taken on some additional responsibilities. I may not be in service to my lord here, but I still feel it important to best offer my skill as a butler.

First, on matters of food.

I am attempting to improve the menu on offer in the cafeteria, and I hope that anyone that has stopped by to try the improved offerings in recent weeks has enjoyed them. However, I would very much like to expand such offerings. If there is a particular dish that you find yourself missing, please, do let me know. I will endeavor to recreate it with your assistance, though I can make no guarantees. If you have a recipe I can follow, all the better.

Second, on matters of facility maintenance.

While our automated services are adequate, I do believe that the order and cleanliness of the base could be improved. Thus, the additional responsibilities I have taken on. If you find any part of the base in disrepair or would perhaps like your personal quarters cleaned regularly, please let me know. It would be my pleasure to do so, as a tidy home makes for happier people.

If you would like a full list of services I offer, I would be glad to provide it. I simply fear that this is already a rather long announcement.

I will take on your request in spirit, but I would insist that the lady herself at least confirm that this is something that she would be amenable to. It would be highly improper for me to intrude upon her space unbidden.

...To say nothing of looking at her unmentionables. That is out of the question.

No problemo! You make some good stuff, so I don't want everyone to miss out just because they're suspicious.

Ah, good point. She might not be too keen on somebody other than me snooping through her stuff.

I was just making sure, since I figured that checking out the lingerie would be part of the perks of housecleaning.

Going through such private and personal things without permission would be extremely unprofessional and a poor reflection of character. Dare I say boorish, even, considering the rather intimate nature of this example in particular...

A stickler, aintcha? Guess it comes with the territory. Nature of the beast, as it were.

You really are aiming to be the consummate butler, though, huh? Were you born into service, or was it a vocation you chose? If you don't mind me asking.

...I would not call that being a "stickler", personally, but your overall point is correct. Indeed, I believe strongly in manners and etiquette.

The question is no trouble at all. In fact, I did not realize it was so remarkable a thing, otherwise I would have mentioned it to start!

But I was not born into it nor did I choose it, exactly. My master purchased my services as a bodyguard first and foremost, but that is an improper thing to have... So, picking up the trade of a butler seemed a natural, unobtrusive fit.

Eh, depends on who you ask. But it's all good. Takes all kinds, yeah?

I think where a lot of us come from, butlers are for the rich and famous only, so it's something of a novelty to have one among our ranks. Most people would rather act in their own interests than for that of someone else.

Ah, now see, that makes more sense as to why you're here. It's mostly fighters and healers who LILITH brings in, so someone in domestic service seemed fairly out there. Not that there's anything wrong with doing things for others for a fee. Or even for free, really. I'm kind of in the same boat, hiring out my services to those in need.

Would it be so strange? Why, from the state of things I have seen so far, it would seem that a skilled domestic servant is more needed than fighters and healers! The kitchen alone gives quite a task.

I am just kidding, though. I would also assume that it is because of my competence in combat, primarily, for keeping tidy as a kaiju attacks does not seem so handy.

But I imagine my additional competencies were a selling point, so to speak.

Hehe, nice to know you've got a sense of humor, too! You definitely need one around here, and some of us are damn sticks in the mud. [Lookin' at you, Bakugo.]

Yeah, it's gotta be your combat prowess that made them target you, unless they feel that their own folks here can't handle domestic affairs?? Which would be pretty weird and definitely sad if that were the case.

Either way, I'm glad to have you on board, both for fighting together and helping out around base! I try my hand at offering my various services, too, but more help is always appreciated.

I admit, they do not handle them up to my personal standards, but I have high standards.

Regardless, I do look forward to encountering a kaiju in person, in a way. I have been using the simulations to practice my skill and consider efficient ways to tackle such unusual combat, but it still does not compare to the true thing, I imagine.

I take it that people here have their own methods to deal with such large creatures? I am admittedly most used to fighting people, so a massive beast is quite a change.

Not everybody can be a domestic god or goddess, I guess, heh.

Yeah, the simulations are good for getting a rough handle of the damn things, but there's something much more visceral about fighting them live for real. In some ways though the simulations might be rigged to be tougher? At least they were with the Imugi dragons. Everybody kept getting their ass kicked by the simulation, probably as punishment for our failure...

That they do! Some of us have large machines to fight them, others such as myself team up with others to form pairs or groups to coordinate our attacks and movements during fights. I've found that works pretty well when you're used to fighting smaller beings.

That is good to know. I shall have to practice in a team, then, for I am much more used to working solo...

I at least do not mind if the simulations are difficult. In fact, that is better, is it not? It means we are all the more prepared for the real thing.

And that'd help the rest of us get to know your strengths and weaknesses so we can better work together!

True, true. Though coming off a mission against a kaiju, sometimes you just wanna take it easy and beat up something simple, ya know?

Ah, well... This is where I must confess that I am a workaholic.

I really do not know how to "take it easy", even in this case. I would continue to push and challenge myself, honestly.

Not to say that I expect that of anyone else, though, to be clear! It is only my personal principles.

Well, if that's what floats your boat, then there's nothing wrong with that. Some people just love their jobs so much that they make it part of their hobbies, too. Which is fine.

Just don't go thinking you have to work until you collapse, yeah? Nobody here is in that dire need of personal service, and we all get paid for helping with the kaiju, so you won't go hungry.

Do you at least take breaks on occasion? For snacks and the like? Everybody needs that now and then!
