I hope you have all had ample time to rest from the aftermath of the kaiju's attack. However, it is time to turn our attention to the future. We have been given an opportunity to decide our next step.

1: Stay in Seoul and assist the city.
2: Chase after the escaped Imugi.

I imagine opinions may be divided on this front, so I would like to open the forum for discussion. Please state your choice and provide thorough reasoning for your decision. You will not convince anyone with a half-baked argument. You may respond to any comment as you please, but remember to stay civil and do not resort to derogatory or inflammatory comments. Should you break this rule, I will revoke your comment permissions.

Keep in mind that your choice will have a grave effect on the people of this planet. It is not one to be made lightly, so do not treat it with levity.

Yes. I am aware. I have chosen to abandon the city. Now it is up to them to learn to fend for themselves or suffer gravely for their incompetency.

Seriously? Call your choice whatever you want but you don't have the right to call THEM incompetent just because they don't have our experience!

Got pulled out of a block of ice and taken care of by a bunch of strangers who taught me as I went, since I didn't have any memories.

Considering they had similar of time, knowledge and camaraderie as you — how is it you can give them a pass?

Because I don't know everything about their situation, just like you don't.
Just like how people who don't know what happened in Busan wouldn't know everything about that situation either and might just assume the kaiju getting away could have been easily prevented. But that's not true, is it?

Experience in dealing with disasters? I did not say I expected them to know how to fight a kaiju. That is clearly what we were summoned for.

They have long been aware of the threat of these creatures. They should have been aware of the discontent and malicious actors in their city. They should be more than capable of controlling their own citizens. If they cannot, then they are incompetent.

We are a force of less than a hundred individuals, forcibly summoned to this planet for the express purpose of hunting kaiju. A group that small will not make a noticeable difference in controlling a population of several hundred thousand people, regardless of what skills we may have to facilitate it. Conversely, the escaped Imugi may go on to devastate more cities that are exactly like Seoul if unpursued.

Are you prepared to take responsibility for a death toll that may exceed Seoul's population?

If you think I wasn't prepared for that, then you're underestimating me.

This is not a pitiful country that cannot fend for itself. It is an ally asking for assistance in a time of need.
By choosing to abandon them, the only thing they will learn is we do not care for their people.

And what will they learn if we leave, and the kaiju returns because we did not do the job they asked us to do and ends up killing more?

Do you think the people are here idly sitting on their thumbs now? That they've shut off their minds and not a single thought is running between their ears? Do you think we're the only ones with brains in this world?

No one said anything about leaving!
If we offer our assistance, we're staying here. We can continue to use it as our base of operations. If we know how to track it now, we can track it later from here.
Or, if you believe that the kaiju will come back for us, we can prepare for attack and fight it off when we're better rested, stronger, and have a home advantage.

If they are not idiots, then they should be well aware of the danger of letting a kaiju escape. What assistance do you believe a group smaller than a hundred can render to a city versus the safety we bring to the world by ridding it of a kaiju?

I don't think there's a human in this world foolish enough to not know of the dangers.

You're absolutely certain we'll kill it, doctor? There's no chance it won't defeat us or escape again in our current condition?

There is perhaps a chance that it will escape, given our lack of knowledge of the Rift, but I do not doubt our group's capability to subdue it. While it is true that we are not operating at full capacity, I have taken a cursory glance at our state yesterday. There are enough of us who are still capable of combat that I believe it a better choice to pursue the creature.
