Now that we've all had time to settle in, why don't we play a game? It's simple enough: you give two truths about yourself and one lie, and we all have a fun time guessing which is which. And if you already know the answers to someone's, there's no need to spill the true answer for all to see. Let's keep it as fair as we can, shall well?
I'll go first:
Now feel free to guess amongst yourselves, friends, and don't forget to give your own three options!
I'll go first:
- I was 'hired' by my current employer after I offered a possibility to a branch of it that led them to invest millions of credits into something that never gave any returns
- It's very likely that I am currently dead wherever I came from after I challenged a very special woman to kill me
- The last planet I was on before this one was Thalassa, a world of oceans -- what was supposed to be a lovely vacation turned far more sinister when one of the locals unleashed an unknown entity from the ruins of an ancient, fallen starship from the fleet known as the Xianzhou
Now feel free to guess amongst yourselves, friends, and don't forget to give your own three options!

I'm gonna go with... the first! Companies don't really gamble on possibilities, in my experience -- they like results, and concrete ones at that. Unless you could provide proof that they'd want to hedge a bet on, I don't think they'd take just a possibility.
As for me... I'm not really good at lying, so I'm gonna be totally obvious, but!!!
1. The place I grew up had no colors whatsoever -- it was a world of black and white, though you could try and see the hues that were stolen away if you looked hard enough.
2. Ducks are my second favorite animal. They're cute, but not that cute.
3. I died in front of the guy I admired. Embarrassing, huh?

( not that he had a choice in the matter, considering he killed the last man to have the title of aventurine. )
I'll go with two for you. I know a man who's extremely fond of the animals, so it's not impossible they rank two for someone else.

Results are results in the end, so I'll give you that! There's no number of Offices that hire right from Syndicates if they can hawk them with better rewards where I'm from, even if that Syndicate was responsible for the vacant spots in the first place -- if you can prove what you promise, then there's promise to be given. For better and worse.
And... you're right! They're my absolute favorite animal, actually. That man wouldn't happen to be the proctor for the mock exam posted up recently, would he?
[ let her think on her second guess. the third would be sad if it was a lie, but the second could be true: death is no stranger to her. literally and figuratively. ]

That's the one! Doctor Veritas Ratio himself, though I suppose the introduction falls flat here where no one is familiar with the name

He's quite the important man, and kind to boot! He offered to help me with my educational pursuits since I'm a little slow in keeping up with everyone else.
How do you know each other?

Don't go spreading around that he's got a soft side to him. He's worked so hard back home to keep everyone an arm's length away and I'd hate to see all of that effort go by the wayside

Don't worry, his secret is safe with me -- even if I don't think it's anything to hide. I have a coworker who's the same way, but that's because kindness gets her type killed.
[ simple as that. ]
I'm guessing... your vacation spot is the lie, since death is no stranger to me and I wouldn't be surprised to hear someone might be.

And you're right! I haven't been on a vacation in years before this
