some skills, no items yet, and the only weird/useless one anyone's mentioned is expensive rock salt. AND i had to tell people about bookmark. this place is so suspicious.. [ he says, like he wasn't fully expecting to have to talk about bookmark. ]

someone has a very neat magic infusion capability, which would have certainly been useful back home at times.
