what's the most useful skill, ability, or power you have, and what does it do?
asking for bookmarking reasons.

[ back home, he'd kept his own abilities under wraps, but considering the situation here encourages collaboration and cooperation, well.. this much is probably fine. ]

related: are there any useful items you have from home, or would like to receive from home?

just because i'm nosy: what about weird or useless items you've received?
i once received a story called one who showed contempt for a streamer for beating up a dokkaebi.
it never came in handy again, unfortunately.

I suppose you're not asking about mundane skills such as intelligence or a wealth of knowledge. What is it you intend to do with this information?

[ He is, and Ratio is going to call him out on that. ]

Then I see no reason to divulge information to someone who is being purposefully obtuse.

[ Oh. He knows Kim Dokja's type. The type that tries to gain your trust by being friendly and unassuming, and obtains information without revealing his own hand. He's seen that tactic used many times by a certain individual. ]

If you wish to engender trust, then it is only fair that you reveal information about your own abilities. Reciprocal self-disclosure is a key component of interpersonal relationships. People do not trust those who do not speak about themselves.

Very well. If you refuse to divulge information, then I will simply hypothesize based on what you have already provided.

Your first question was in regards to others' abilities, mentioning that you would consider 'bookmarking' them. You then mention a useless 'story' that you once received. Lastly, your username is reader.

I hypothesize that you have an ability that allows you to use skills that align with the core of these 'stories', and that you can obtain 'stories' by either creating them through your actions or by witnessing another's ability and 'bookmarking' them.

Was that an accurate deduction?

[ A hypothesis proven wrong then. He hasn't expected it to be correct, because the universe is vast and there are countless possibilities. Though, it was entirely possible he was being lied to. That he couldn't forget about as well.

Either way, his true goal has been accomplished: getting the man to reveal his 'bookmark' ability.
]

That wasn't so difficult, now was it?

I am a Pathstrider of The Hunt, though unintentional it may be. It has given me access to Imaginary energy, which I can use to temporarily create certain objects for combat. The Hunt in particular grants me strength against singular enemies.

[ So he may have forced Kim Dokja to speak because he was more than fine providing information on his own abilities, but did not like that the other man did not want to reciprocate. ]

Imaginary energy is the essence of existence, its clusters in spacetime forming the worlds we inhabit and manifesting Paths in the wake of an Aeon's ascension. What I use is not truly Imaginary energy, but the purest manifestation of it among the seven elements that it morphs into when harnessed by a Pathstrider.

I see no reason to use it outside of combat. Manifestations of Imaginary energy are temporary and do not linger for long, as it is full of potential and thus does not lend itself to stability.

Theoretically, one can create anything with Imaginary energy, but there is a correlation between an individual's self-conception and the objects they find easiest to manifest. For instance, it is instinctive for me to manifest chalk, as I use it to write on the chalkboard when teaching my students.
