@Great Explosion Murder God Dynamight --- [text]
[He normally doesn't bother with network posts. But this was a fairly long time in coming.]
Who here knows about painkillers, anesthetics, or other analgesic drugs?
Most of us have gone through surgery to get additional implants or modifications, or know someone who has, and every fucking time it's the same damn story: "This won't be done with any anesthetics as it's an elective procedure and LILITH is saving anesthetic drugs for life-saving medical procedures."
That's bullshit.
If they're cutting into us to do surgery, it's a damn life-saving medical procedure because we're the ones saving their fucking lives! The least they can do is knock our asses out or numb it before digging in and shoving more crap into our bodies! It's odd as hell a place with this much technological advancements doesn't have a way to create or access a steady supply of painkillers, so it's probably just not on their priority list.
I'm not a botanist or a chemist, but I know medical pain relievers started with plants before it became chemicals derived from them. Coca, thyme, clove, poppies, and curare are some of the original bases. I'm leaving the city next week to try to locate some of these in the wild and bring them back for cultivation. If you want to come with me, meet me in front of the base at dawn next Tuesday.
In the meantime, if anyone has knowledge about this, share it. Just cause they won't help in this doesn't mean we can't.
[ooc: for the record, i'm no botanist, chemist, or medical practitioner myself, but i'm happy to do some research if we wanna go down some kind of rabbit hole with this. feel free to mingle and interact further to share information or ideas if you like. hypothetically, if this succeeds, it would make future reward surgeries less burdensome on the outsiders... unless LILITH's just doing the pain on purpose.]

alright, then let's blame it on your heroic streak
no subject
fine.
if we get more outsiders, more implants, it'll just mean more surgeries.
no subject
people shouldn't have to endure that kind of pain if it isn't necessary
no subject
i don't buy their excuse anyways.
no subject
no subject
they're being assholes!
no subject
there isn't much they'd gain out of it if they just want to be assholes
[he's a lil more sympathetic about this if only because he ended up as part of a shady clinical trial for a disgraced doctor once.]
no subject
[yes, it is practical thinking to save the drugs for treating someone who got an arm bitten off rather than implanting a chip in an outsiders head.
but if said chip makes it so you have 50% less arms bitten off, HELP THE OUTSIDER!]
no subject
if there's a shortage, it must be affecting everyone, including people with diseases or who are injured in some other way
i can understand they'd want to be as stingy as possible, in that case
no subject
we've cleaned up the bay, found all those escaped hybrids, cleared disney debris. it's not like we haven't picked up after them.
no subject
because while i'm not complaining, it does feel like we have an awful lot of free time when there aren't any kaiju
[alright, mr "i have four part-time jobs, school, and a double life" phantom thief.]
no subject
[not a hard-stated rule, more inferred, but bakugo doesn't even know any outsider that's gone out of the city beyond a few guys going for motorcycle practice around the perimeter. no one just takes off and leaves into the overgrown, kaiju-threatened world beyond by themselves.]
that's why i want to gather a group and go.
no subject
[this would be such a wry statement in person.]
worth it, imo
and it's their bad if they don't stop us after you planned it all out right in front of them
no subject
[since bakugo has been under "house arrest" -- or more room arrest -- once before. thanks for the escape, fushiguro.]
uh-huh. i'll let them know we're going; i'm not asking permission if we can.
no subject
that would be hilarious, actually
[ofc ren would think an escape like that would be 1) cool and 2) very funny. excellent reason to feel smug.]
i like it
oh, and i'll see if i can find any useful maps
[might as well see if his job as a cartographer comes in clutch.]
no subject
[though he HAD blasted both door and window for some time and nothing happened, so that was... disconcerting.]
maps? if you do, scan them or download them and we'll pass them out before we head out.
[that's very helpful, ren.]
no subject
[yeah, ren is assuming he tried already because he can't imagine bakugo calmly hung out in his room for a few days.]
will do
most of the newer maps are already digital
i don't know how helpful older ones will be, but maybe one will have something a satellite can't pick up
no subject
[and possibly lilith decreased whatever it was that kept him there.
(note this was early on and not communicated/defined well, so fudge a little.)bakugou still doesn't play synthia's stupid social games.]the older ones show routes and paths that might be destroyed or overgrown by now. these people probably have maps for the city and nothing official about outside it.
no subject
[just some casual property damage...]
if you come by where i work sometime, you can take a look for yourself
no subject
[hmph. he didn't exactly want to blow up his room though...]
where's that?
no subject
[but he sends over the shop name and address, bc i never actually picked what the place was called... it's a small store that specializes in futuristic and retro globes and maps tho.]
no subject
[that's an oddly specific store, ren. has anyone gone out with the sole aim of purchasing a globe? (even if globes are awesome.)
bakugo's taking down the information regardless. expect to get taunted when he shows up.]
no subject
[don't knock spinning a good globe if you've never tried it before, bakugo!
ren genuinely likes making maps, though, so this actually turned out well for him.]
no subject
[could've been a general "you" as well! still not promise... even if bakugo would help bail ren out since he's not cruel.
as long as you spin them and they come free and turn into a bouncing ball of death wrecking chaos around the city.]
no subject
[would it tho.
kaiju vs globe, where the globe wins.]
