[He normally doesn't bother with network posts. But this was a fairly long time in coming.]
Who here knows about painkillers, anesthetics, or other analgesic drugs?
Most of us have gone through surgery to get additional implants or modifications, or know someone who has, and every fucking time it's the same damn story: "This won't be done with any anesthetics as it's an elective procedure and LILITH is saving anesthetic drugs for life-saving medical procedures."
That's bullshit.
If they're cutting into us to do surgery, it's a damn life-saving medical procedure because we're the ones saving their fucking lives! The least they can do is knock our asses out or numb it before digging in and shoving more crap into our bodies! It's odd as hell a place with this much technological advancements doesn't have a way to create or access a steady supply of painkillers, so it's probably just not on their priority list.
I'm not a botanist or a chemist, but I know medical pain relievers started with plants before it became chemicals derived from them. Coca, thyme, clove, poppies, and curare are some of the original bases. I'm leaving the city next week to try to locate some of these in the wild and bring them back for cultivation. If you want to come with me, meet me in front of the base at dawn next Tuesday.
In the meantime, if anyone has knowledge about this, share it. Just cause they won't help in this doesn't mean we can't.
[ooc: for the record, i'm no botanist, chemist, or medical practitioner myself, but i'm happy to do some research if we wanna go down some kind of rabbit hole with this. feel free to mingle and interact further to share information or ideas if you like. hypothetically, if this succeeds, it would make future reward surgeries less burdensome on the outsiders... unless LILITH's just doing the pain on purpose.]

foraging and Learning, for those who do not know the source material. an all in one expedition.

you wanna be the fucking professor or something?
no subject
i have neither the educational requirements nor the desire to be a professor, so no, absolutely not. i will, however, read relevant pages aloud for the party to do with as they please.
no subject
you're not gonna read shit. i'll gather the relevant information and send it to everyone's ocular so they have it for reference.

[after, you know, all that.]

i don't think i ever thanked you properly for it.

[brushing off the gratitude. don't get sappy, choso.]

[ damn, it was so nicely steeped too. ]

[it was still accepted.]

but i don't trust these bastards to think about him more than themselves.

[like them or not, lilith has actively gone far above and beyond any kidnapper would do for their victims in terms of comfort, assistance, and more to the outsiders. bakugo won't dismiss the blatant data right in front of him. that still doesn't mean he's loyal to them or wants to stay here... but he is more willing to help.]
i know why he does it. he's just fucking reckless about it.

[ incarnated for a specific use, transmigrated for a specific purpose, choso sees among LILITH's code the base truth behind all of it: a tool is a tool no matter how complex its innards be.
but bakugo's esteem for the warm spark of humanity is what makes him the figure to look to in times like this, so choso allows himself to look that way as well. ]
regardless, i'm glad he has someone so dependable at his side. you're a good influence.

[bakugo's in no way argue they aren't tools. brought here against their will for a specific purpose they're told to work towards. and yet, they're given relatively free choice, they're treated like people even if they are soldiers or mercenaries. if lilith truly didn't care to treat them as anything more than tools, choso wouldn't be sleeping next to yuji every night.]
hmph. i already told him i'm not gonna let him get wrecked. even by himself.
