[He normally doesn't bother with network posts. But this was a fairly long time in coming.]

Who here knows about painkillers, anesthetics, or other analgesic drugs?

Most of us have gone through surgery to get additional implants or modifications, or know someone who has, and every fucking time it's the same damn story: "This won't be done with any anesthetics as it's an elective procedure and LILITH is saving anesthetic drugs for life-saving medical procedures."

That's bullshit.

If they're cutting into us to do surgery, it's a damn life-saving medical procedure because we're the ones saving their fucking lives! The least they can do is knock our asses out or numb it before digging in and shoving more crap into our bodies! It's odd as hell a place with this much technological advancements doesn't have a way to create or access a steady supply of painkillers, so it's probably just not on their priority list.

I'm not a botanist or a chemist, but I know medical pain relievers started with plants before it became chemicals derived from them. Coca, thyme, clove, poppies, and curare are some of the original bases. I'm leaving the city next week to try to locate some of these in the wild and bring them back for cultivation. If you want to come with me, meet me in front of the base at dawn next Tuesday.

In the meantime, if anyone has knowledge about this, share it. Just cause they won't help in this doesn't mean we can't.

He's aware of the supply shortage the world is facing, so this is where his knowledge comes in. He'll have to figure out something somehow. But working with herbs and plants... it's rather primitive, but perhaps that's the only option they have. ]

It would not be difficult for me to compound analgesics, provided we have the proper components to do so, but it will be important to examine the herbs you bring back for any mutations that may change or lessen the efficacy of their effects.

I have not been able to locate studies on the effect kaijus have had on the planet's environment, so it would be wise to tread carefully. Pharmaceuticals are not something one muddles in lightly.

[Surprise. As far as he knows, the initial surgeries, for the ocular implant and arm implant, are done while the Outsiders are still "under" - whether that's due to medicine or inter-dimensional whatever the fuck. But all else? Nope!]

[ Mutated plant monsters... that's no good. Perhaps the kaijus have a radioactive effect, or the chemicals they leak are extremely volatile. It doesn't bode well for their attempts to create their own medicine. They have to try, regardless. Nothing gained otherwise. ]

If there are any individuals interested in learning the subject of medicine, I am more than happy to impart my knowledge. However, I will not allow anyone to experiment with drug compounding without my approval and supervision. Pharmacy is an accredited profession for a reason.

[That said, LILITH is far from an evil overseer that treats them as slaves. They do a lot to make the Outsiders comfortable and care for them, though there are a few questionable activities and decisions. Nothing's perfect. It's why Bakugo's taking this upon himself rather than pounding on the hospital doors and threatening the doctors to go out and farm weeds.]

The teleportation device they used to send some of us to Kyoto was made using parts of kaiju last month. [Electrified geckos.] They're not wasteful.

[To give credit where it's due. Shady execution or not, these people, apparently, have good intentions.]

[ Bakugo's explanation on the teleportation device is further proof that LILITH is indeed withholding research from him. Research that, if he had access to, would allow him to provide the proper aid that someone of his capabilities can. ]

If LILITH lacks the resources to provide us with analgesics, and they are not wasteful, then what makes you believe they have not already gathered these plants for their own use?

[Good luck with that. LILITH doesn't just lend out research to people. They're soldiers. Not fellow equals to come onto their teams and start putting their own ideas into the mix. Do you see a funny little "Suggestion Box" in the cafeteria? Hell no! Though no one's saying he can't talk to LILITH workers if he sees them...]

There's kaiju out there.

[Why else would they be dragging other people in from other worlds? Fear. Desperation. They sent the Outsides to handle their own little insurrection problem under Disney rather than deal with it themselves.]

Each time we fight or go on missions, they always include instructions to bring shit back. Kaiju, mutated plants, hybrids, fucking people. If they were gathering shit themselves, they wouldn't ask us to be their delivery service every time.

[And if they're too scared to even collect DEAD kaiju, what makes this guy think they'd go out foraging for herbs and minerals in the woods with LIVE monsters?]

It's obvious they think a lot of shit is worth collecting and studying.

[It's been one of their repeated tasks during battles and missions. Bakugo can't blame LILITH for wanting to study their attackers, but he's now wary about it due to the hybrid incidents and now this portal shit... Sometimes people will show up with the Outsiders to help, usually with transport or directions, but not often on front lines.]
