[ Lucy is a bit, let's say, out of sorts after her surgery. She's tried getting up and walking out of the medical bay, but it does her a fat lot of good with her body aching every time she so much as twitches in a way it doesn't like. And that's saying nothing of the sharper pains that serve as the aftermath. ]
someone get me out of here
I can't take another second in here
[ Now, the question is, will whoever answers
A. take her back to her room
B. convince her to stay put in bed
or
c. will she be gone by the time someone shows up and thus be somewhere in the hall in an ill-advised fit of stubbornness? ]

You still alive? What were you thinking?

Are you really gonna scold someone who just got out of surgery? For shame.

[ Anyone else would have comforting words to say, but Elan's not above giving her a hard time. It's a small relief to see she's well enough to snark at him. He knows what's done is done and it's not like she can take back the operation, but that's precisely why it bothers him so much. ]

Maybe I should just crawl out instead. Brat.

[ He might be her worst visitor yet. Talk about lack of bedside manners. Despite how it may sound, Elan didn't come here to antagonize her and he pushes the wheelchair over for her to use. ]

Thanks...for this, I mean.
[ She does have enough strength to get her feet onto the floor. Her stance is wobbly, but with the wheelchair right there, she can focus herself just enough to plop into it with only minimal difficulty. ]

[ Seeing her soft side elicits a sincere response from Elan. Ever since he learned about Nyuu's origins, he's thought that behind her gruff exterior, Kaede is more vulnerable than she lets on. Taking the handles of the wheelchair, he begins to push her, checking that the corridor is free of nurses before stepping out. ]
Want to rest in your room or get some sun?

Which includes, naturally, a snide remark. ]
You really wanna spend more time with me than necessary? Weird.
no subject
Why would it be weird? You make it sound like no one wants to hang out with you.
[ He steers them away from the dorms and towards the elevators to the rooftop gardens, the only green space in base where the sun shines through and he feels less shut in by the walls of the organization keeping them here. You're stuck with him now. ]

[ Hell, she only deals with the folks at her job because usually they're sloshed by the end of the night and thus bearable.
But this? A quiet moment with someone she actually can be around without feeling irritated? ]
But if that's fine with you, then I suppose you can entertain me a while.
[ She leans her head on her hand and stares out at the greenery that soon comes into view. With how gray the rest of the city and the base can be, a verdant scene like this is a breath of fresh air, in more ways than one. ]

[ He asks with feigned innocence as he pushes her wheelchair up to the side of the pond that overlooks the garden. Elan stretches his arms out and exhales, for the next minute shutting his mouth long enough to give them both a moment of peace. ]

[ Once the wheelchair finally comes to a stop, she seems to relax a little. Not a lot, but it's just enough for her to actually shut her brain off for a moment and just enjoy the scenery around them. It can't compare to the forest-covered mountains, but it's lovely all the same. Quiet. ]
...thank you.
