I've found myself with somewhat of a slow day today so I thought I'd take the opportunity to get a few of my questions answered.
Is there anything you particularly miss from your home? Or something that make it unique and different from any other place you've been? I doubt we'll get the chance to visit our homes for an extended period any time soon or else I'd just visit and see for myself. As it stands, I'll have to settle for the next best thing.
No need to reply if you're feeling shy but I really would appreciate any answers you're willing to give.
Oh, and before I forget. I received an image awhile back that I was unable to decipher on my own. If someone would be so kind as to explain the meaning behind it, I would be ever so grateful.

[ thanks ren, he still doesn't know wtf it means. ]

Right? I think he should! (‐^▽^‐)Tell me how it goes sometime, okay? I'd like to try them too!
What's your world like, anyway? You know a bit about mine, but I'd like to hear about your home, too.

So just Fontaine is fine, if you don't mind.

Well, to summarize an article I once read in The Steambird, Fontaine sits in the center of all Teyvat and is the source of all water on the continent. If you like the ocean you'd probably like Fontaine, though we certainly have a wide variety of cuisine and shopping as well.

I can't say I'm too much of an expert on geography [ also if i, val, have to think too deeply on genshin lore i'll k-word myself ] so I don't have an answer to your first question. Cuisine tends to feature a lot of seafood, due to the proximity to the ocean, though many of the locals have something of a sweet tooth as well. Hence, there are a lot of shops that sell pastries of all kinds.
The architecture....hmm. I suppose there are a lot of columns? There's an emphasis on symmetry. Sorry, I don't really pay much attention to that sort of thing normally. The buildings in Fontaine are quite different from the buildings here though.

Symmetry and columns... I'd guess they're a pretty orderly people, then? If there's water all around, I'm sure it's a very beautiful place that makes use of it in a way that either focuses on efficiency or on aesthetics. Can you tell me which?
[ at least THAT MUCH, WRIOTHESLEY?????? useless... what is an architect supposed to do with that. ]

We ARE the Nation of Justice. It would only be fitting for things to be orderly here. But as for your question, why not both? Some people find beauty in efficiency.
no subject
beauty in efficiency... yeah... she knows the type... ]
There *is* something beautiful about efficiency, that's true. I always strove to be when I worked at my last job, and I know someone who likes it well enough too... but it's a little hard to balance both depending on what you're building.
It must be easier with water, if they can manage that! I'm sort of getting a picture of your peers in my head, Wriothesley. Are they strict and to the letter of the law? Or is it more circumstantial based?

Here's a tip for you in case you ever find yourself in Fontaine: don't eat ketchup by itself unless you'd like to spend a few days behind bars.
no subject
If you don't mind my saying so, Mister Wriothesley, that doesn't sound unreasonable. Anyone who does that sounds like they need some time to themselves.
[ behind bars. ]

I stand corrected then.
I suppose you're also about to tell me that wearing a hat backwards on Thursdays and unauthorized release of flying objects in the first three days of the month are also serious offenses deserving of jailtime?
no subject
No! That's ridiculous! And I don't really think they should be punished-punished for eating ketchup on its own, as gross as that is... Honestly, those rules sound as picky as some of the Taboos in the City. Every District has their own, and if you break one you're liable to get Hunters after you.
[ three guesses what happens next ]
So why are they so strict? For free labor?

the wh
hold on she has to take out her book. this is new info. i've decided i need to make a worlds page somewhere so i can keep track of what she's learned. why is she so organized. ]
Sorry, but I have more questions!
1. What's an Archon?
1.2 Are there other types?
1.3 Are you born one, or do you become one?
2. What does flair and theatrics have to do with such silly laws?
3. Are you an accountant for a prison?

Are you always this nosy when learning about new places, Miss Malkuth?
1/2
I am! Part of my job was learning about my city, you know, and making a timeline out of its history! You'd be surprised to learn what does and doesn't get recorded, and a lot of that is the stuff that's just common knowledge! The "everyone knows this, and so we really don't need to write it down, why would we ever forget it?" kind of knowledge! And sure, it doesn't apply to my occupation in any way, shape, or form, and it really doesn't matter whatsoever in the long run, but the way you get to know a place is through its people, and you get to know its people through its history! Being able to interview someone rather than just reading about it is a whole new experience too, Wriothesley, I'm gonna milk you for all it's worth!

We can talk about it over drinks, if you'd prefer...?

[ his very busy schedule that involves ballroom lessons, pole dancing lessons, bingewatching reality tv, and scouring the local grocery stores for new teas. maybe he can fit her in five months from now........ ]
no subject
Well... if you can pencil me in sometime, or direct me to someone else who can answer my general questions just as well, I'd appreciate it. Though I'd prefer to spend more time with you, Wriothesley.

[ he's joking, ftr. ]

I promise, I don't want anything from you! Just to get to know you and the place that made you who you are, just because I'd like to...

val i want you to know i'm friending you on disco
Let's put a pin in it, then.
[ since she's definitely not giving up on it. ]
