I've found myself with somewhat of a slow day today so I thought I'd take the opportunity to get a few of my questions answered.

Is there anything you particularly miss from your home? Or something that make it unique and different from any other place you've been? I doubt we'll get the chance to visit our homes for an extended period any time soon or else I'd just visit and see for myself. As it stands, I'll have to settle for the next best thing.

No need to reply if you're feeling shy but I really would appreciate any answers you're willing to give.

Oh, and before I forget. I received an image awhile back that I was unable to decipher on my own. If someone would be so kind as to explain the meaning behind it, I would be ever so grateful.

It's not. Trials are held in the Opera Epiclese and frequently amass quite the viewership. Though why anyone would take the time out of their day to watch the suffering of another is beyond me.

Typically, all verdicts are comprised of two parts: one passed by the Chief Justice, and one passed by the [ leans into mic and hits play on the boombox ] Oratrice Mecanique d'Analyse Cardinale. That's a mechanical scale used to determine a criminal's guilt. The verdicts passed by the Chief Justice and the Oratice have never differed in the hundreds of years the court systems have been in place...until Childe. You can imagine how much of an uproar that would have caused.

But as for your question, he escaped. I was in the process of investigating what happened before I arrived here. It's not exactly easy escaping from a prison hundreds of feet below the water's surface.

Just that he was quite popular back in the Fortress too. Had his own little fanclub and everything before he left.

I probably wouldn't be joining that anytime soon. If he were still around, that is. We just have a lot of things in common than I thought. It's hard to find people like that.

No, it's something more personal on both our ends. I told you about Whales before, right? Turns out that both of us wanted to kill our respective whales.

He has a whale he wants to kill? I suppose something that large would be enough to satisfy his battle lust.

True, but to be fair we only fought simulations at the time. They're harmless. Anyone can just put up a fight with them and not get killed.

But no, you're right. That's one thing I have in common with him too.

Is that why you became a [ what's the term again ] Fixer instead of pursuing another career path?

Not exactly. It just so happened that becoming a sailor came with a Fixer license. As to why I chose that career path...

Well, I was bored of it all, you know? I think I remember telling you bits and pieces of this. I was ready to leave my dreary existence behind and hopefully start anew.

Looks like you got your wish. And then a second time by being brought here. Does that mean you enjoy fighting the kaiju then?

It's like you're asking if I *like* risking my life out there. I'm not as powerful as the others here, you know.

At least the kaiju attacks don't seem to happen as often, I'll give it that. Back at the Great Lake, I tried my best to survive no matter what. It... gets tiring sometimes, but there's nothing I could do.

Some people do enjoy risking life and limb.

You never considered changing career paths again after that?

Well... I did land another job, but I can't talk much about it because of the contract. In fact, you're talking to my current boss right now.
