If you want to get technical, most people only knew me as the Duke before I arrived here. You could say it was more my identity than anything else was.

Titles can be as much a marker of identity as a name. Sometimes even more, depending on who you're speaking to.

A part of you, as much as any other influence on you becomes. Who knows, maybe you'll have an influence on me too.

i'm not sure that's something you'll want in life. it is in the name.

Good thing I'm no longer a duke here then. I've been through plenty of disasters anyway. I think I could handle one more.

what kind of disasters?

Just the long-standing prophetic kind that spell out doom for every person in the city. Not that I really believe in fairy tales, but there has been some physical proof that makes it hard to dismiss.

But I'm sure you're not interested in that sort of thing.

curses and prophecies sometimes go hand in hand. but also the more i learn about you, the more i can think of ways to work together. [ surely if he'd started with that in the beginning, life would be easier. alas, it's choso. ]
