okay, so, there's going to be a video dropped in on here. it's just of some of the feral cats by the hot springs rolling around, but their ears flick up towards the video's source after a moment and dart off; there's a soft, disappointed sigh before it ends. ]

Is there any way to befriend these furballs? They're sooooooo cute, but they keep running away when I try! ╥﹏╥ And I've tried food before anyone asks, they just don't seem to trust me too much... (ﾉ´ｰ`)ﾉ

[ the next bit she has to psyche herself up for just a bit, but once she activates the audio function she's good to go. ]

So! I picked up a camera, and I've been taking pictures of a lot of things... they're all pretty amateurish, I guess? But it's been really fun too! [ thanks march ] Has anyone else picked up photography as a hobby? What do you take pictures of? Maybe we could make a group of it?

[ she sure is excited. to meet people and do things. anyway, last up is... malkuth's really working out what she likes best (so far, it's text, she likes the faces she can insert), and this is including putting out a hologram of herself: she's 163cm, or 5'4" those off the metric system, and she's wearing just the basic outfit of some pants and a longer sleeved shirt for the cold.

... this one she won't know if she likes actually but that's fine! that's fine. she'll learn. we'll all learn. replacing the book she might have held tight in her hand is, in fact, a disposable camera she'd bought with most of the money given to her, and the hologram makes similar motions as she takes pictures of her surroundings. ]

Actually, I could use a new hobby or two in general... You could say work really ate up my time, so I never really had any to spare for things like that. Any recs? Oh, you can reply however you want, I'll match!

[ okay, that's the end of it, promise, she isn't sorry for. all that. she's definitely digging text most she misses her little faces. ]

Mm. We just had our first kaiju mission at the ocean. No casualties, but there were a lot of shachimon. Er, that's the name of the Whale-like entity we fought.

Oh. Okay. Well, when that clears up then! I should probably learn how to swim before that, though... It seems dangerous to go near the water without knowing basic safety.

Finally, someone with some common sense around here. You have no idea how many landsmen I had to put up with just because they're experts at fighting on land...

Sorry, I didn't mean to sound like I was dismissing it or anything... I just thought it'd be funny to see a bunch of "experts" fumbling their way in the water after being so confident. That's all.

[ oh dw about that. she's a perennial hater. but after everything she went through and the deaths she had to endure... well. ]

It's not funny when it comes at a cost of people potentially dying out there. If the monsters don't tear you limb by limb, the painful sensation of exhaling your last breath in the water will make you think twice about taking all this lightly.

But someone who works at the Library wouldn't understand that, would they?

We still died, you know.

[ it's quiet, noticeably cooler than her tone from before, but less defensive than it is, well. somber. ]

We still died, and we felt every second of it. Even if we came back once the Library closed... that didn't take away the sensations or the memories that stuck in our minds. I can't count the number of ways I've been skewered, burned, strangled, shot, electrocuted, suffocated, hung, and so much more in my time there -- but in the sense of not "understanding" death as the finality of life...

[ ... this form, maybe not. but she remembers. she knows a girl who did. malkuth's hair brushes down into view as she hangs her head a bit, camera dropping in front of her too. ]

I might not. I haven't died like that before, even if it's what I wanted in the end. But "I" did once.

[ in a sense. it's a different sort of "i" here. ]

wait, wait, wait. hold on. everything she described... was basically the same thing ishmael and the sinners have gone through in the city. and the differences of the I's - does she mean identities? does she use them, too?

she pinches the bridge of her nose and takes a deep breath to calm down. man, if only faust were here. ]

...Fine. I concede. I have another coworker here, and she probably might take those kinds of jokes about the sea just fine, but I don't. So just... don't do it around me, okay?

at least she can move on to another topic without dwelling too hard on it. breaking free from an obsession is not an easy feat, okay. ]

Yeah! A coworker of mine is fond of it, and so me and the others join him every now and then to keep limber. I'm pretty flexible!

[ it's fun! it's easy! if only she was a gymnast! ]

It's really relaxing too... and it's like, the only thing we can do since it's dangerous to run down the halls. You can only do so many steppies before your legs give out, or it just becomes routine because it's your job.

That doesn't sound half-bad. Although, I've been thinking of another exercise for a while now and I just need that one push to go pursue it...

There's a pole, and you dance around it. Not that hard to figure out.

I use a harpoon [ not typically since she left her mace and shield back home ], so being able to maneuver that in other unique ways will help enhance my combat prowess.

Okay! I'll give it a shot if you'd like a partner, since it'd be useful to know a few different styles of fighting. The only thing I got from the Library is a book, actually.

[ like. it's a thick ass book. but she's not bringing it into combat, so she has to train her body in other things. pole-dancing sounds interesting and even if it didn't she'd try it anyways just in case it ended it being that way!!!! ]

No one's, just... a book! It has a list of everyone and everything I've sorted so far though, along with some doodles of this and that. More of a personal kinda thing, y'know?

[ and it has a neat description of the abnormalities she surpressed for her ego pages too but whatever. ]

[ whew! dodged a bullet! for once! maybe she should have gotten someone's book. would've been funny to have her latest kill's, but ishmael wouldn't appreciate that. ]

[ other than pre and post battle stretches. that isn't changing anytime soon but it'll be good before exercise too. ]
