βΆ DOWN TIME / NETWORK MINGLE #2
β· DOWN TIME / NETWORK MINGLE #2
βΆ DOWN TIME.
As Outsiders make themselves comfortable back on MAIN BASE, they will be informed of a reward for their great efforts. A pizza party will be held sometime after the kaiju fight and before a Valentine's party. All it really contains is pizza being served in the cafeteria along with the following streamers with balloons:
GOOD JOB:Those who do you attend the party will still get this message as a marquee text along their ocular device. Characters CAN take this message off, but it's a bit complex. Try under General > Settings > Notifications > Messages > Texts > Alerts > Appearance > End Battle Notifications > OFF. Hopefully you won't miss something exciting by doing this. The marquee will disappear a week after the kaiju fight.
TOP KNOT (K.O)
HAT GUY (294)
SNOWMOON (292)
βΆ CHOCOLATES.
On the day of February 14th, every Outsider will find that there is a box (or several) of chocolate. As soon as their eyes fall on them, their oculars will automatically generate a message, almost as if it were a mission debrief:
β β β MISSION OBJECTIVE:
β Hand out all chocolate before end of day.
β Failure to comply will be grounds for disciplinary action.
It's unknown who the order has come from, but those who don't hand out chocolates by the end of the day, will find that the very next morning, they are confined to their room for a full 24 hours.
During the duration of the holiday, Outsiders will see a tiny number in the corner of their oculars, which notates how many chocolates they have left to give. This number may also not move unless the chocolates are delivered with enough good will. Maybe add in a word of gratitude, a flirty comment or two, or even a fake confession if you're bold enough.
HOW TO PLAY: Feel free to use this post to play around with these prompts, or start your own logs (both are completely okay)!
NOTE: Everyone is free to decide how many chocolate boxes they were given and how stubborn SYNTHIA is in moving their count down. It can also be assumed that SYNTHIA will be encouraging and guiding Outsiders to complete this mini-mission.

βΆ SYNDER.
Although ocular & brain implants are the means of communication nowadays, a messenger service still exists in this world. Mostly everyone uses LINE nowadays even if the need for cellular phones is null. Characters may have already recognized the interface to be somewhat familiar with the similar shade of green and same old slogan.
This time, a new extension appears on the LINE interface. It's something called SYNDER? Outsiders who are curious may investigate this program will see that it has already filled out a dating profile for them. This profile is only visible to Outsiders and not the LILITH crew or any civilians. Outsiders MUST change their dating profile to what they would like or delete it... those who are too slow to change or delete their profile may get an embarrassing profile already filled out for them. Once someone responds to their bio, there's no changing it for the rest of the month! So make sure you check out and see what the system programmed for you.
"The system is updating β¦
...
The system is updating β¦ Wait.. SEOK DANG, what the β β β did you do?"
...
The system is updating β¦ Wait.. SEOK DANG, what the β β β did you do?"
Not long after that, another message runs across the screen.
"Hahaha, it was such a shame we had to fight that big whale bitch around this time of year! Love is in the air, so get loving! It might be the last time you get to do it, who knows! Okay, gang, don't tell the Commander or Captain about this. They're kinda serious biz but I really think we all could use some stress relief, right? Fill out this profile below and get minglin'! Or don't. It'll probably do it for you if you don't put SOMETHING though."
Welcome to our second Network Mingle! This is a Tinder mingle; a new application that SEOK DANG has installed into everyone's implants. It's taken a lot of tweaking and hacking behind the rest of the LILITH crew's backs. Seems like the only person on staff who is interested in seeing Outsiders get some is SD himself. These messages are encrypted from the LILITH crew ... besides SD because he's a nosy bastard. Sounds fun.
HOW TO PLAY:
1. In observation of Valentine's Day, this month's text meme is a dating profile! Pick the textarea that is under your TEAM NAME and fill out the spaces.
2. You can write the bio in character or as if Synder programmed their bio for them.
3. Body count can be confusing... even the automatic system doesn't know what that means! Does it mean how many people you have fucked or how many people you have killed? Or both?
4. PROFIT!
5. Special shout out to Roc for giving us this event suggestion!
Participation in this mingle isnβt obligatory, of course. If you donβt want your character to participate, you can simply assume the glitch did not affect them.
We also have a code below for fun, but please don't feel pressured to use it. As always, a regular text thread works out just fine! Most importantly, have fun! All tags on this mingle will count for 2 points each.

[ Just in case Yuwon decides to retrieve that chocolate by force, she shoves it into her mouth right away. If she's a variable out of control, the same goes for how Sooyoung perceives him. For all she knows, he might pull out an egg out of his pocket and crack it on top of her head. ]
What now? You got that weird countdown too, right?
[ If it went down, then it means she helped... blugh. ]
no subject
makes him stare at her. he's clearly wondering why he gave it to her in the first place, but he also wasn't one to waste his time on regrets, either. so he decides to move past it with a clear exhale of nothing short of judgment. ] I wasn't going to take it away.
[ but, since it's gone. he really can't now. ]
It did. [ it actually may have not yet, but he figures it might be a different issue.
with that, he holds his hand out. ] Now give me yours.
no subject
[ If he expected Sooyoung to be difficult about this, that's not happening. On top of acting surprisingly obedient, she even opens the chocolate box and lets Yuwon choose the praline he wants. ]
What are you thinking? You want something from me, don't you?
[ Chocolates aside. ]
no subject
and as much as he hates to admit it, he was kind of getting used to this place. ]
Did yours go away?
no subject
[ Saying it out loud seems so surreal that she wants to take it back almost right away. What is done is done, though. ]
Now I feel like shoving a chocolate down your throat.
[ Maybe she's thinking about taking revenge after the Egg Incident. ]
no subject
or more like he doesn't have to when she threatens to shove it down his throat. ]
Do you think I would let you?
1/2
Of course not. [ And before this thread becomes noncon chocolate feeding, Sooyoung smirks. ] I'm not tall enough.
[ There's not a single trace of regret in her voice. Sooyoung Han has no shortcomings, obviously. ]
Look what you've done, I don't even feel like annoying you today. It's your fault.
2/2
Oppa.
no subject
Do you really want to start with this? [ he releases a sigh. ]
How old are you?
no subject
I'm twenty-nine, Oppa.
[ A surprisingly honest answer for a woman who lies more often than not. It's up to Yuwon if he's going to believe her... ]
no subject
it's not exactly the truth, and he doesn't know if there is really merit in correcting her. but, he does just to be contrary. ] You're technically older than me.
[ except, he also doesn't want to call her noona, so there's no winning. ]
no subject
[ She's a writer, she's very sensitive to technicalities. Also if he doesn't want to call her noona, then she can call him oppa, obviously. ]
no subject
[ he reaches a hand up, placing his hand on top of her head as if to punctuate the difference in their height. ]
no subject
[ She will, however, call him 58. ]
no subject
while telling her his age wasn't a big deal considering his file was probably accessible to a certain extent, he also didn't want to open up the debate of how long he's been in the tower and other natural follow-up questions that came after. the more information you give, the more cracks formed. hence, he remains tight-lipped before... ]
People in the tower end up living a long time, so I just don't think it matters. [ is what he says noncommittally. ]
no subject
[ How to call Yuwon old without calling him old... or something. Still, it might be the last time Sooyoung calls him that. To be fair, it doesn't even feel right to address him as such for some reason.
Maybe it's because of the egg incident. ]
What's on the top of that tower anyway?
[ Just as he expected, there will be follow-up questions. ]
no subject
to be honest, the easiest response would have been to provide no answer at all, or to lie, but... yuwon didn't exactly feel he needed to commit to the latter. so instead... he may have admitted something that could have left a lot of room for speculation.
but, at her last inquiry, his brows furrow before: ] No one really knows. [ obviously, that doesn't include him. but he doesn't say that. ] Besides, what would do with that knowledge?
no subject
[ Whether her theory is right or wrong, Sooyoung isn't sure if she can count on Yuwon to confirm it, especially when she's putting words into his mouth. For all she knows, he might be keeping his cards close to his chest. And, if anything, it's a smart move in Sooyoung's opinion. ]
Do you think that I'm powerful enough to do something with that knowledge? [ She rewards (?) him by scoffing a laugh. ] That's really flattering. I'm just a nosy author, that's all. Was your world always like that?
[ And here comes another reward... more questions. ]
no subject
Some speculate there's a whole other tower. Floors that go beyond the "top." [ naturally, he knows that's not true, but it was the most commonly believed. ] You seem persistent enough. [ is this a compliment? ]
Depends. Was your world always that? [ ... and he rewards her question with the same one. ]
no subject
[ She's tempted to shoot a few more questions his way, especially after being called persistent. ]
Using repetition on me? That's a literary device, you know. [ When it might seem that Sooyoung just wants to deflect, she takes a deep breath. ] Three years ago everything went to shit and the end of the world started.
[ This is just the right amount of information Sooyoung's willing to share. ]
Are you clearing the floors all alone?
no subject
she really was a writer, huh? even the way she cleverly side-stepped the subject had to be this way. or so he thinks. "end of the world" is a statement he doesn't exactly expect and yet, he knows better than to think he could wring any additional information out of her. besides, for all the questions he asks in trying to comprehend the world climate others come from... he didn't exactly enjoy prying. ]
That's the plan. [ he gives a nod. he did it in his previous life, and he planned to do the same in this one. admidst all the other plans he had, that is. ]
no subject
[ Most of the time, even. Sooyoung has a hard time imagining that he's completely alone and hasn't formed a party. On the other hand, didn't he mention that each floor is a completely different world? That would make working with people way too troublesome and he'd have to go through the process every time he climbed up to the next floor.
Thinking about all that makes her go silent for a little while. ]
Have you ever thought what's on the end of it all? After another tower, there might be yet another tower, but you'll eventually reach the end.
no subject
... is having this common ground. before it can stick for long, he moves forward in the topic. when he speaks, it's almost as if he were speaking about something unrelated to himself. ] Not really. [ if just because he technically... did know. except, in his previous timeline, it meant the destruction of the tower and all the living things in it. in that sense, who really knows what the future held this time.
but that said, he shakes his head. ] You can say that I have a strong feeling it shouldn't be anything like that.
[ this is the least convincing thing ever. hence, he changes the topic to: ] What made you change your mind? [ about working with others. she mentioned she knew a few people, right? she also keeps mentioning about how people leave, so... ]
no subject
Then what is your feeling telling you? You should be thinking about what's beyond that tower.
[ There's no hint of hesitation in her tone as if she knew Yuwon's situation very well (she doesn't) and that was the best thing for him to do. ]
Some people are just... more interesting than others, that's all. They want to reach that end you should be thinking about.
no subject
it is true that he is wondering where her curiosity stemmed from? was it just from being a writer? or was it some other connection they may have built up through their exchanges. no, that couldn't be it. ]
But, thanks for the advice. [ as devoid of emotion as his voice is, he does actually mean those words. he figures they come from a place of actual experience, and it was probably meant to encourage him to think of what the future held. the issue was that maybe that's all he ever really thought about. ]
