▶ DOWN TIME.

As Outsiders make themselves comfortable back on MAIN BASE, they will be informed of a reward for their great efforts. A pizza party will be held sometime after the kaiju fight and before a Valentine's party. All it really contains is pizza being served in the cafeteria along with the following streamers with balloons:

Those who do you attend the party will still get this message as a marquee text along their ocular device. Characters CAN take this message off, but it's a bit complex. Try under General > Settings > Notifications > Messages > Texts > Alerts > Appearance > End Battle Notifications > OFF. Hopefully you won't miss something exciting by doing this. The marquee will disappear a week after the kaiju fight.

▶ CHOCOLATES.

On the day of February 14th, every Outsider will find that there is a box (or several) of chocolate. As soon as their eyes fall on them, their oculars will automatically generate a message, almost as if it were a mission debrief:

✖ Hand out all chocolate before end of day.
✖ Failure to comply will be grounds for disciplinary action.

It's unknown who the order has come from, but those who don't hand out chocolates by the end of the day, will find that the very next morning, they are confined to their room for a full 24 hours.

During the duration of the holiday, Outsiders will see a tiny number in the corner of their oculars, which notates how many chocolates they have left to give. This number may also not move unless the chocolates are delivered with enough good will. Maybe add in a word of gratitude, a flirty comment or two, or even a fake confession if you're bold enough.

HOW TO PLAY: Feel free to use this post to play around with these prompts, or start your own logs (both are completely okay)!

NOTE: Everyone is free to decide how many chocolate boxes they were given and how stubborn SYNTHIA is in moving their count down. It can also be assumed that SYNTHIA will be encouraging and guiding Outsiders to complete this mini-mission.

▶ SYNDER.

Although ocular & brain implants are the means of communication nowadays, a messenger service still exists in this world. Mostly everyone uses LINE nowadays even if the need for cellular phones is null. Characters may have already recognized the interface to be somewhat familiar with the similar shade of green and same old slogan.

This time, a new extension appears on the LINE interface. It's something called SYNDER? Outsiders who are curious may investigate this program will see that it has already filled out a dating profile for them. This profile is only visible to Outsiders and not the LILITH crew or any civilians. Outsiders MUST change their dating profile to what they would like or delete it... those who are too slow to change or delete their profile may get an embarrassing profile already filled out for them. Once someone responds to their bio, there's no changing it for the rest of the month! So make sure you check out and see what the system programmed for you.

Not long after that, another message runs across the screen.

"Hahaha, it was such a shame we had to fight that big whale bitch around this time of year! Love is in the air, so get loving! It might be the last time you get to do it, who knows! Okay, gang, don't tell the Commander or Captain about this. They're kinda serious biz but I really think we all could use some stress relief, right? Fill out this profile below and get minglin'! Or don't. It'll probably do it for you if you don't put SOMETHING though."

Welcome to our second Network Mingle! This is a Tinder mingle; a new application that SEOK DANG has installed into everyone's implants. It's taken a lot of tweaking and hacking behind the rest of the LILITH crew's backs. Seems like the only person on staff who is interested in seeing Outsiders get some is SD himself. These messages are encrypted from the LILITH crew ... besides SD because he's a nosy bastard. Sounds fun.

HOW TO PLAY:
1. In observation of Valentine's Day, this month's text meme is a dating profile! Pick the textarea that is under your TEAM NAME and fill out the spaces.
2. You can write the bio in character or as if Synder programmed their bio for them.
3. Body count can be confusing... even the automatic system doesn't know what that means! Does it mean how many people you have fucked or how many people you have killed? Or both?

[ She hesitates to answer. She's neglected to speak up on her previous marital status for the sake of it being complicated, but does it really matter here? Now? This city is far in the future. Loid and Anya are long gone, aren't they?

She hasn't fully processed it, but...perhaps there's no better time than now. ]

I used to be married, before I came here. Though...I don't really know if it actually counted as a real marriage.

I suppose it doesn't matter anymore.

( In his mind, there's a few things that she could mean. Was it a marriage of appearances? Perhaps political? Or maybe her husband was gay? Though the stigma wasn't quite as bad in his timeline, it certainly wasn't unheard of. Yor seemed upset by it, though, whatever the case may be. )

By 'not counting,' do you mean some sort of mutual arrangement for appearances?

( He didn't want to pry into her personal life too much, though he didn't like the thought of her sulking over it, either. )

He needed a mother for his daughter, and I needed a boyfriend or a husband to... Mm...well, it's...

[ With how these implants work, it's a lot harder for her to hold herself back once she gets going. Yor has to actually cut off her train of thought before it can go to text, or else it might seem like babbling. ]

At my age, being single was seen as potentially suspicious. As in, I could've been a spy. It wasn't unheard of for single people near thirty to get questioned about such things.

( He had to confess... that kind of setup wasn't totally unheard of in his time, either. He wasn't certain what kind of world she came from, but he considers what things were like for him in the US during the Reagan era. More than one person would suspect him of wrongdoing based on his heritage, or even being of a soviet. But even before then? Things were worse in the age of McCarthy, or so he's heard.

But that does raise another question, though. What would her mystery 'husband' suddenly need with a wife?

He's not so blunt to confront her about this outright, though he couldn't say the idea sat well with him. Instead, turning his focus to: )

( If she felt strongly about him, Kiritsugu didn't want her to feel as though it didn't matter. )

I don't know. He always told me I was the only person who could fit the role of Anya's mother, but...

Even if he felt nothing for me, he was always kind and considerate of me. He never once asked me to do anything I wasn't comfortable with.

I suppose there's no use dwelling on it, but it's clear that he cared about you and your wellbeing, even if he didn't share your exact feelings. Love comes in many forms, after all. Platonic or romantic. Cherish that in your heart. No form of love is invalid.

( Perhaps this is advice he should be giving to himself... )

She repeats the phrase to herself over and over again. Scenes of the misfit family they all were. All four of them. Of course she counts Bond as well. Dog or not, he was also family.

She'll never get to see them again. But even so...she can say for certain she's happier now for having known them at all. No matter how much it aches that she couldn't even say goodbye. ]

I do miss him. I miss Anya dearly too. And Bond. I cherish the time I got to spend with them.

( Strangely, somehow he feels as though they've reached a breakthrough. )

I know how you feel, I think. Irisviel, Illya, and Maiya. They're all dear to me, changed me for the better. I wouldn't be who I am without them. But I have to remind myself, they wouldn't want me to be unhappy in a place such as this. And neither would your family wish that for you.

( He cannot believe he is doing this. Still trying to come to terms with it. But he craves human connection, he knows he does. And his mental state isn't going to improve by shoving his feelings to the side and playing sad music in his room on repeat. Iri wouldn't want that. To give into the empty void that his heart could be. )

[ It takes her a moment to fully process what he says, lost as she is in thoughts of another time and place. When it does finally catch up to her, she's struck for what to say or even do. ]

[ After all that, is it really...? It's okay, isn't it? Especially since it seems like he just wants to cheer her up. ]

Are you sure? I'm not really good at suggestions for that!

You don't have to be, Yor. I'll be treating you for the evening. I just want you to enjoy yourself, alright?

( He was expecting to put effort into the planning as is, but he hardly minds that, he thinks. He could make the evening a surprise for her. )

[ Internally, she struggles for what to say. Yor Forger isn't who she is here, so why shouldn't she go on a date or two? Isn't she allowed? And it's not like she has to keep her civilian and professional life separate here if her date is a coworker. Or...maybe she should? Maybe she's thinking too hard about it. ]
