βΆ DOWN TIME / NETWORK MINGLE #2
β· DOWN TIME / NETWORK MINGLE #2
βΆ DOWN TIME.
As Outsiders make themselves comfortable back on MAIN BASE, they will be informed of a reward for their great efforts. A pizza party will be held sometime after the kaiju fight and before a Valentine's party. All it really contains is pizza being served in the cafeteria along with the following streamers with balloons:
GOOD JOB:Those who do you attend the party will still get this message as a marquee text along their ocular device. Characters CAN take this message off, but it's a bit complex. Try under General > Settings > Notifications > Messages > Texts > Alerts > Appearance > End Battle Notifications > OFF. Hopefully you won't miss something exciting by doing this. The marquee will disappear a week after the kaiju fight.
TOP KNOT (K.O)
HAT GUY (294)
SNOWMOON (292)
βΆ CHOCOLATES.
On the day of February 14th, every Outsider will find that there is a box (or several) of chocolate. As soon as their eyes fall on them, their oculars will automatically generate a message, almost as if it were a mission debrief:
β β β MISSION OBJECTIVE:
β Hand out all chocolate before end of day.
β Failure to comply will be grounds for disciplinary action.
It's unknown who the order has come from, but those who don't hand out chocolates by the end of the day, will find that the very next morning, they are confined to their room for a full 24 hours.
During the duration of the holiday, Outsiders will see a tiny number in the corner of their oculars, which notates how many chocolates they have left to give. This number may also not move unless the chocolates are delivered with enough good will. Maybe add in a word of gratitude, a flirty comment or two, or even a fake confession if you're bold enough.
HOW TO PLAY: Feel free to use this post to play around with these prompts, or start your own logs (both are completely okay)!
NOTE: Everyone is free to decide how many chocolate boxes they were given and how stubborn SYNTHIA is in moving their count down. It can also be assumed that SYNTHIA will be encouraging and guiding Outsiders to complete this mini-mission.

βΆ SYNDER.
Although ocular & brain implants are the means of communication nowadays, a messenger service still exists in this world. Mostly everyone uses LINE nowadays even if the need for cellular phones is null. Characters may have already recognized the interface to be somewhat familiar with the similar shade of green and same old slogan.
This time, a new extension appears on the LINE interface. It's something called SYNDER? Outsiders who are curious may investigate this program will see that it has already filled out a dating profile for them. This profile is only visible to Outsiders and not the LILITH crew or any civilians. Outsiders MUST change their dating profile to what they would like or delete it... those who are too slow to change or delete their profile may get an embarrassing profile already filled out for them. Once someone responds to their bio, there's no changing it for the rest of the month! So make sure you check out and see what the system programmed for you.
"The system is updating β¦
...
The system is updating β¦ Wait.. SEOK DANG, what the β β β did you do?"
...
The system is updating β¦ Wait.. SEOK DANG, what the β β β did you do?"
Not long after that, another message runs across the screen.
"Hahaha, it was such a shame we had to fight that big whale bitch around this time of year! Love is in the air, so get loving! It might be the last time you get to do it, who knows! Okay, gang, don't tell the Commander or Captain about this. They're kinda serious biz but I really think we all could use some stress relief, right? Fill out this profile below and get minglin'! Or don't. It'll probably do it for you if you don't put SOMETHING though."
Welcome to our second Network Mingle! This is a Tinder mingle; a new application that SEOK DANG has installed into everyone's implants. It's taken a lot of tweaking and hacking behind the rest of the LILITH crew's backs. Seems like the only person on staff who is interested in seeing Outsiders get some is SD himself. These messages are encrypted from the LILITH crew ... besides SD because he's a nosy bastard. Sounds fun.
HOW TO PLAY:
1. In observation of Valentine's Day, this month's text meme is a dating profile! Pick the textarea that is under your TEAM NAME and fill out the spaces.
2. You can write the bio in character or as if Synder programmed their bio for them.
3. Body count can be confusing... even the automatic system doesn't know what that means! Does it mean how many people you have fucked or how many people you have killed? Or both?
4. PROFIT!
5. Special shout out to Roc for giving us this event suggestion!
Participation in this mingle isnβt obligatory, of course. If you donβt want your character to participate, you can simply assume the glitch did not affect them.
We also have a code below for fun, but please don't feel pressured to use it. As always, a regular text thread works out just fine! Most importantly, have fun! All tags on this mingle will count for 2 points each.

I'm not forcing you to take anything. I thought they should be eaten if they were just going to get neglected.
[ But now he has a box. And chocolate already. What is he supposed to do? ]
...I would have thought someone like you wouldn't have that much difficulty handling these.
no subject
[ but, whose pocket were these chocolates actually coming from? that was certainly a mystery in and of itself. though, yuwon doesn't waste time speculating, before he cants his head at nanami's statement. which does make laugh under his breath. ]
Do I look like the kind of guy who just hands out gifts?
no subject
[ He's focused on values at all times. The value of items and the effort people contribute to things is all important, even if it's for something as silly as this. Nanami even puts the box Yuwon gave him under his arm as he stands up, accepting it with some respect despite knowing it's just to get rid of them. He respects the gesture. ]
You look like someone people would want gifts from.
[ Shouldn't his job be easy? Just go up to people and ask them to take chocolates. Plenty of people would want them because he's attractive. ]
1/2
waste, huh? to be honest, yuwon was never quite that considerate; conscientiousness could only be extended so far within the tower, after all. but, it's not to state that he can't comprehend the difference in opinion here. especially, since it seemed to work out, if just because nanami ends up accepting the box. ]
You say that, but maybe you just like chocolate.
[ his light quip aside, he's actually a little surprised at the latter. ]
no subject
to be completely objective, he's not even sure if most people want anything from him. if anything, maybe it would only make them uncomfortable, especially after knowing what he's usually like. ] No, I don't think so. I think it would only make them suspicious.
no subject
[ Does he look like a sweets fiend? Yuwon! Nanami doesn't reject the box, though, because he is willing to put up with that much to satisfy his own sense of fairness. He does frown at the final answer though. Yuwon has the same advantage that Gojou has--he's outgoing and attractive. ]
Are you asking them? If you don't say that you want them to have it as a gift, they'll probably misunderstand the intention.
[ How can this guy have that much trouble giving out free candy? Is he just beating them with the boxes? ]
no subject
[ yuwon makes a general gesture, as if eying out exactly where nanami's countdown gauge would be in his ocular vision. but, he puts his hands back down to his side easily enough, as he shrugs along to his words. ]
Does it matter how it's given? I don't think it needs a speech. [ he figures those that wanted to invest more time would, and those that wanted to skim on by, probably did so without much consequence.
while yuwon may have not had an explicit reasoning to do as dictated— he was so accustomed to the concept of missions having clear rewards. that said: ] You didn't misunderstand. [ so wasn't that a hole in his argument right there? does he get anything out of pointing this out? no, but does that stop him? also no. ]
no subject
tch-! I just don't want it to be thrown out.
[ He's trying to maintain some face after being called out, straightening his clothes uncomfortably. Yes. He does like it. ]
You made it difficult to misunderstand. [ But, really, Yuwon. ]
Is it that hard for you to get rid of candy? Everyone here expects it. They'll take some if you ask.
no subject
not that he actually cared if it was or not, but if something was going to be unused and discarded vs. actually utilized— it's clear which one would be preferable. despite nanami's touch of discomfort, yuwon pretends not to notice. ]
Maybe you're just getting used to me. [ it's said more in fact than anything else. ] You say that everyone expects it, but it doesn't mean they like it. Not that it matters to me. [ even being misunderstood isn't exactly the end of the world. ]
What about you? Is this the best you've come up with? [ he's not trying to sound particularly pompous or judgmental, but per usual, he doesn't exactly mince words. though, to be fair, he supposed it work since he ran into him like this. ]
no subject
He cares too much against Yuwon's genuine lack of interest. ]
Maybe I am.
[ Yuwon isn't really that difficult to get used to. He's more indifferent than Nanami himself. Nanami looks at his pile of boxes and sign, sighing tiredly. ]
I don't want to chase people around either. Is it actually genuine if we're being told to do it?
no subject
[ it's just a challenge back to the concept. if he thinks about it, even without his eyes, he could probably have made similar determinations, but when it came down to it... isn't it less about what's real rather than what he believes to be true? he figures others probably operated similarly. they can't read minds or see lies and intentions. they just rely on their gut.
and he has a feeling nanami didn't generally give off such a bad impression to receive the hostility of others. but, who knows. ]
Isn't it fine if they take it however they want?
no subject
[ People accept whatever's convenient. He knows that, but despite his flat, serious expression, Nanami picks his words carefully. ]
It won't be fair to them if I give them something that could be misunderstood. These kinds of gifts are meant to convey more than just chocolate. Recipients trust their teammates and friends with their feelings. I don't want to take advantage of that.
no subject
yuwon doesn't see the gesture that deeply. after all, they were simply a box of chocolates. but, he doesn't necessarily argue this point. instead: ] Then can't you just put your trust in them at the same time? That is, if you feel that bad. [ it isn't necessarily meant to challenge him or his ideals, but he definitely does seem to be testing the resolve behind what he says. ]
If you can't do that, then... [ he just sort of seems to shrug. ]
no subject
Just shoving it forward because he had something to do without thinking of the consequences. His resolve cracks. ]
...mm.
[ Fine, fine, right. He draws in a deep breath and folds his arms sternly. ]
Get the rest of yours.
[ They are going to fuck shit up and hand out candy. ]
no subject
maybe he's thinking too much, but as much as he knows the man... he struck him as dutiful. serious. uncompromising in some ways. except, maybe the latter isn't completely true of their dynamic the last few times they had encountered one another. hence, he seems to give a huff. half in humor, and maybe half in exasperation at his own prompting. ] See, that wasn't too hard. [ they haven't even started yet.
but, well, it seemed easy enough. ]
no subject
He scoffs at Yuwon's comment, that pragmatism winning out. ]
Don't speak too soon. We still have to actually give them away.
[ And despite how easy it seems, Yuwon apparently hasn't had success. That's not an encouraging record for them. ]
You're coming too.
no subject
Fine, let's go. [ he figures if they could both clear their objective at the same time, the actual method and ideology behind it didn't actually matter. ] But, I don't want to hear anymore complaining after this.
[ if just because sometimes you have to get the last word in. ]
no subject
[ He might not be thrilled to take on this task, but for once he really has no complaints to offer. Maybe it's Yuwon's attitude of constantly pushing forward that is rubbing off on him, making Nanami think that it isn't so bad to chase the limit of something, even if it's a silly thing like passing out candy by some inconsequential deadline. If he were to dig really deep, he might even find he's enjoying this--enjoying Yuwon's grudging agreement to go along with it. ]
You look like you have more to worry about than I do.
[ Yes, that might really be some sarcastic humor bubbling up. ]
