Hello! [A blond man steps into the frame giving the camera a hearty wave.] The name's Taryon Darrington, local inventor, upcoming writer, seasoned monster killer, amazing sense of fashion, I'm sure you all know me. And if you haven't, welcome to Earth!

Now- [He reaches behind the bench to pull out a few amulets and wrist guards with runes inscribed into them.] As you can see here, I am an expert in infusing magic into weapons, accessories, anything that can hold a spell. Since we have a few pieces of kaiju parts and plenty of metal to work with, I am opening my services to anyone willint to pay! Or trade something, I'm not that greedy.

What kind of magic are we talking? Offensive? Defensive?

Defensive, mostly. If you're not burnt to a crisp or can handle a tougher blow, you can fight for longer. Or, well, I can give you something that offers a temporary boost to your agility. That sort of stuff.

[Quickly adds while hold a hand up.] That's not to say I don't do offensive spells! I...I can make your weapons a bit stronger!

How long do these effects last?

[He thinks back on the spells he has used most often.] Depends on its power. It could be a few minutes or an hour. A few hours, sometimes. If I spend enough days on a project, I could make a property permanent.

Have you done these spells for your own items?

Oh, yes, I do it quite often. Although I built my own weapons to be complex. I have all the time and resources for myself, after all. You know-- Doty, grab my helm!

[Doty's robotic arm emerges from the edge of the screen holding a golden helmet studded with gems. Taryon takes it and shows off the sparkly design.]

Each of these jewels holds a spell. Some more damaging than others, but they're mostly all unique. I'm thinking of calling it the "Gembearer's Helmet" if I were every to recreate it.

Not for everyday magical equipment. [As if magic is just a mundane thing...] Another helm would be. Couple thousand gold at least.

You know. Armor. Coins with healing spells. Flashlights. Sturdy spectacles.

What do your spells do? Any specific examples?

[It's both.]

Wel, I can always give you the ability to fly or jump really far. There's making you invisible, or making your armor resistant the cold, or making you faster and harder to hit. I once built an earring that sends and receives private messages over a network! So. It's...um, redundant in these parts, but I can do that sort of thing.

Don't things eventually run out of energy? Magic or not, there's a limited use case, isn't there?

Not if I infuse them the right way. I can do a one-time only spell for battles, but if you need something permanent, I inscribe runes into it! Or I just put so much magic into the object that it just stays here forever. It's a whole science where I'm from.

[He thinks for a moment on what a modern analog would be.]

I guess it's like a computer code. Doty has a central unit that processes the magic commands because he's such a complex invention, and the spells itself have the code that decides what activating it does. And there are lots of rules and puzzles to solve to get it to work right.

Computer code, huh? That's more complicated than I was expecting. [Not once to mince words, she sounds more shocked than anything else. Maybe a little interested, too.]

What happens if it's not exactly right?

It usually just doesn't work at all. Or if I'm working with high-level magic, something catches on fire. But that's why my workshop walls are made of stone!

[He laughs heartily.]

But really. You shouldn't worry about me blowing up the base.

I wasn't worried about that before you mentioned it!

Nothing like transforming you into an animal, but if you want your knives to be more...pointy? Or just do more damage, I can do just that. I can make you faster or invisible with the right accessories.

Do I like, have to find stuff for you to enchant or do you have a selection?

I have some kaiju leather and bones, but if you have some armor or whatever, that makes it easier. Otherwise I have to go scrounging for parts or use a milk jug for alchemy.

You'll have to be more specific. There are lots of ways to protect someone.

Oh - uh... protection from harm? Like if something got the drop on a person, they'd get shielded from it? At least for a bit?

... So something like a cloak of protection is what I'm hearing. Better reflexes, and you can avoid some attacks.

Hmmm... I don't - I'm kind of winging this idea and seeing what's possible.

I need something sturdy that's made of metal. Any high quality wristband will do. Otherwise, it won't be able to hold the spell and fall apart.

I...haven't worked with plastic much. I could try if that's what you have.

Hm...m'sure I could find SOMETHING that all of them would be cool with wearing or having on their person somehow.

Plastic can break though so I wouldn't want it to break.
