now? ok! Hello everyone! I'm Jessica. I'm new here and I've got a few questions.

[She holds up one finger.] Is killing kaiju the only way to make money around here?
[A second finger.] What sort of style clothes do you wear to a wedding in this town?
[A third finger.] Does anyone have experience setting up a shrine?

[She flashes the camera a smile, then has another moment of blinking and fumbling to disconnect the recording.]

Haha, I'm teasing. Though it's also pretty surprising you've already been invited to one! The last time I attended a wedding I was still a little kid.

Also, Yato is super nice and I'm pretty sure he's invited everyone he's ever met to come.

I suppose since I'm the opposite of a lovely and charming lady it didn't occur to me that people would invite brand new outsiders to their wedding.

In any case, I don't have experience setting up shrines exactly, but I'm certainly willing to help out if you just need pairs of hands.

Sure, I can put you to work! We’re looking into repurposing an abandoned shrine, so there should be plenty of sweeping and scrubbing to do.

I can definitely help with sweeping! Are you planning on dedicating the shrine to your own gods or the ones here?

I'm absolutely making a shrine for my goddess. That's where this all started and then I found out none of the gods here had shrines and some of them are the jealous type.

Well as far as setting up a shrine for the ones that are here, couldn't we just ask them what they want their shrines to have?

I did. Or, I tried.

Tezcatlipoca and Godzilla said they didn't need one, but they work hard, so they're getting one anyways. Ereshkigal got too flustered, and then... a whole thing happened.

And Yato is supposed to be setting up his own, but that hasn't happened yet, so Jessica to the rescue!

I've got some ideas of what they'd like I think, so I'm making it work.

I know Tezcatlipoca and Ereshkigal, but what are Godzilla and Yato the gods of?

I haven't actually met Godzilla yet, but he calls himself a Titan, and wants to become a 'kami', so it's kind of aspirational, I guess. And Yato is the God of Fortune and Happiness. Money, not luck, because when I met him, he'd gotten his throat all burned up from an explosion. I don't think he's got good luck at all.

Interesting, so we have a god of something "positive", a goddess of something "neutral" and a god of something "negative". That's nicely balanced, isn't it? Obviously I can't factor Godzilla into this as is.

I guess? Maybe LILITH was trying to keep the cosmic balance with who they brought here.

But in the shrine I set up, we’ll have Althena, too. She’s the most positive goddess around, so that mixed things up.

I assume that's your personal goddess, then? I feel like you're a slightly biased source.

Yeah, but I'm the only one here who knows her, so you'll just have to take my word for it. She's my world's Goddess of Creation, Love, Beauty, and Light. My healing powers are a blessing from her.

[Jessica is so not prepared to answer theological questions. She skipped, like, so much class.]

Well, uh, she created life, so she can restore it too? Well, not bringing people back from the dead, but fixing injuries and healing diseases and stuff.

[She doesn't know how it works, exactly, she just knows it works. Shhh.]

That's good. Ereshkigal would probably be upset with you if you started reviving the dead.

[Jess is getting the feeling that a lot of things would probably upset Ereshkigal. All the more reason to cheer her up with a shrine!]

I'm not going to go around disturbing the balance of things. If someone's not dead yet, I'm allowed to heal 'em, and if they are dead, either Ereshkigal or Tezcatlipoca will take care of them.

As long as we're all in agreement! Obviously I'm not opposed to giving aid to the injured.

[He's also apparently not opposed to killing people, but Jessica isn't going to bring that up. Hopefully that's in Yugamu's past, not his future too.]

Seems so. I'm just glad to see we've got far more people to accomplish that than I had previously.
