[ on the night leading up to a certain fated day, ishmael takes a long deep breath before pressing POST. ]

For those who've just arrived or who wasn't aware of what had happened last month, we'd had some casualties during our mission in Transylvania. And while two of them had been successful revived, there was one person who wasn't able to make it despite countless efforts.

I have coordinated with Ereshkigal, the goddess of death, and by extension a fellow god of death, Tezcatlipoca. Wriothesley's funeral will be held on the 20th, at a certain beach in Okinawa. I have placed the coordinates down below should you wish to attend. There will be the final viewing of the casket in the morning, and in the afternoon he will be cremated and his ashes will be scattered into the sea, in hopes that he will make a safe return to his homeland in Teyvat.

[ ... ]

This might be ill-timed for some of you. Most of us are grieving and recovering in different ways, and I will not force you to come if you have other pressing issues to attend to. But if you'd like to to put down your parting words for him here or to me privately, I will see to it that your words will reach him.

Otherwise, anyone who's known him - whether as a friend, acquaintance, a brother figure or a confidant - is invited. If you are neither of these, just tell me if you'd like to attend out of respect anyway. Please wear black for the occasion. If you have any other questions, let me know.

...Thank you.

[ ooc: the funeral log is right here. ]
likemybooks: Shot of Taryon from the side as he thinks (sad thinking)

[It's common to see those grieving a loved one extoll their virtures, and Taryon had to brace himself to hear the kindest words about a ghost of a man he should have remembered. He wishes he could recall how he died. He wishes he could feel some sense of camraderie with a friend who, from what he can tell, suffered together in a castle of torture.

But from theis description, he gets the sense of what kind of guy he was. A good man, though he may not be close to everyone, but great to be around once one got past his icy barrier.]

He does sound like someone I could be friends with.

[Isn't Vex the same way? She puts on the mask of a cold and cruel woman out of fear that any stranger could hurt her, but she loves with a passion and would kill anyone who threatens her friends and family. Despite that, her hidden gentle side resonated with Taryon, and they quickly became best friends.

It's not exactly how Wriothesley is described, but Taryon has a good track record of worming into the hearts of those with aloof reputations. With enough time, he wonders, could they have gotten close?]

I wish I knew him better.

I'm so sorry for your loss. Is there anything I could bring to the memorial that he would have appreciated?
