[text] @goddess of death
Greetings everyone. I am contacting you on behalf of Nicholas D. Wolfwood (user name: punisher).
He recently made a post offering his services as a priest to those who wish to confess their sins. While admirable, the payment he asks in return for such a service is unacceptable. Normally he should be chastised for such behavior, however the money he hopes to earn through his service is to be used for a noble cause: helping the orphaned children of this world. I believe this cause to be an important one and he deserves to be commended for having decided to take it on!
Unfortunately, he lacks the confidence to ask for donations, hence his resorting to selling what should be a sacred service for money. He is convinced nobody will help him, as people typically never give anything away without the expectation of getting something back.
I would greatly appreciate it if you could reassure him that the people in this world are generous. While nothing is prepared yet to receive donations, I am sure he will feel heartened to see the kindness and benevolence we are all capable of. I will personally donate some of my own money when the time comes.
Thank you for your time.

Even those many would argue deserve to suffer, were once innocents who were changed by the cruelty of the world.
It is not my place to judge them or inflict more suffering on them.

In my universe, there is a warden who judges the deeds of the deceased. After their assessment, they may either go to the afterlife, reincarnate, or be sentenced as punishment for their life and misdeeds.

[ She doesn't like it, not one bit. But she's not gonna judge. ]
I disagree with the concept of punishing souls. Though I would be curious to speak with gods who employ such methods, to better understand their reasoning.

Unfortunately, I couldn't guarantee you a fruitful conversation with Juniper, they've grown to detest humans due to their position as warden. While it's not a method they designed, Juniper does believe in it.

[ That's... Interesting. But she's not sure humans should judge souls like that. ]

We Magicians aren't human: we live long lives and oversee various aspects of the universe that ensure its continued functionality. As the September Magician, my purpose is to record the life of every soul when they die, so that Juniper may pass their judgement.
[ it's why he was so curious in the first place, though he failed to say as much when he probably should have tbh. ]

[ I-Is he a friend of March 7th?! ]
Most magicians are humans, yes.
Well, there are very few of them. The term describes magi capable of using true magic.
Though comparing you to gods is more apt.
We are not truly immortal and we exist to oversee aspects of nature.
I would imagine the difference is you need not human thoughts to sustain your existence.

Yes. Juniper is the June Magician, in comparison.
Interesting. There are some records of magicians in ancient stories, but they did not have the roles we current magicians do. Similarly, Gods only exist in folklore and fairytales.
You're correct in that we don't require any human intervention to survive and for some of us, interaction with humans is highly discouraged.

But that must be a truly lonely existence.
[ What do you mean she's projecting? Absolutely not. ]
