I hope you have all had ample time to rest from the aftermath of the kaiju's attack. However, it is time to turn our attention to the future. We have been given an opportunity to decide our next step.

1: Stay in Seoul and assist the city.
2: Chase after the escaped Imugi.

I imagine opinions may be divided on this front, so I would like to open the forum for discussion. Please state your choice and provide thorough reasoning for your decision. You will not convince anyone with a half-baked argument. You may respond to any comment as you please, but remember to stay civil and do not resort to derogatory or inflammatory comments. Then you share a similar view as me. They should be more than capable of handling themselves, and you bring up an excellent point. I do not believe the citizens of Seoul would appreciate our attempts to control them.

That being said, I do not necessarily fault some for choosing to stay and aid the city. It is not easy to look away from the devastation that has been wrought upon them.

That will have to be the focus of LILITH's research if they wish to make any breakthrough in the crisis. If they can prevent the kaiju from opening the rifts, that may potentially resolve most, if not all of their problems.

[ But of course, if it were that easy, LILITH would have already done it. ]

I shall make some inquiries with LILITH once this mission is complete and then formulate a plan to research them.

You speak in such poetics that I could have mistaken you as a writer. I never thought anyone could discuss death is such a poignant manner. Then, does the decision truly matter?

If they are not idiots, then they should be well aware of the danger of letting a kaiju escape. What assistance do you believe a group smaller than a hundred can render to a city versus the safety we bring to the world by ridding it of a kaiju?

I fear your shrunken size has more to do with the limitations of their technology than any conscious choice to reduce your strength. If they were capable of sustaining your natural size, they would have allowed you to do so during the fight. There are many others like you who have found their strength to be diminished upon arrival.

yeah back to the matter at hand I know it sucks to let an enemy get away but also I don't like the idea of just pitching ourselves headfirst into the rift after it so quickly

This is vexing. Much of this damage could have been avoided if this was not so 😤. There must be some way to overcome this, if we can be called from other worlds than surely restoring our power is a possibility 😕.

Ah, well. Truthfully I'm just an aspiring God of Fortune, one who makes a person's luck better by trying to help people myself. It's not an inherent power I have or anything...

I was unaware that gods could change their domains. Truthfully I have very little knowledge of gods like you who are closer to human than Aeon.

How long would it take for you to become a proper God of Fortune? Are there any particular requirements you must fulfill to do so?

Well, Tenjin was once feared as a vengeful spirit and came to be regarded as a god of scholars and students, so it's not unheard of. But it's not as simple as picking a vocation and having your abilities change to suit it.

I really don't know if I'll ever be able to become a true God of Fortune or if I'm stuck being what I was born as. But I'm damned sight going to try.

An empire that embraces death as a path to prosperity is doomed to fall, for it devalues life and by so doing weakens the very foundation of its existence.

There is a balance to be maintained, between acceptance of death as an inevitability and love of life as something that ought to be protected. Chasing the kaiju and abandoning the locals betrays a lack of care for lives that can yet be saved.
