6/10. I enjoy parrying with your wit, but the Hellenic style is inferior. Choose a better one.

Whatever resemblance my outfit bears to that of a culture from your world is purely coincidental. I rather prefer my style as well, so I will decline your suggestion.

All worlds derive from the same root, so I do not believe in coincidence. Fate, yes.

It's nothing against you. As thankfully, you make up for the deficiency with your wit!

And what is this root that you speak of?

[personal profile] redsoil 2024-07-24 01:13 am (UTC)(link)
The primordial waters of creation.

All life flows from the cosmos, branching into different directions.

That sounds remarkably similar to the current prevailing theory in physical cosmology, which describes the structure of the cosmos to be much like a tree of Imaginary energy, from which branches shoot out in all directions along space-time. At its tips, star clusters form like leaves, becoming the worlds that we are familiar with.

[ ughhhhhh please don't mention cosmic trees ( of life ), he just had to deal with one in his last game ]

Remarkably similar? Theory? This is the truth of worlds. The purview of mortals is to impose their understanding on the cosmos in a variety of ways, but only divine eyes and minds truly comprehend the vastness of existence. It is why gods stand between it and the world of men.

For a different world, your theorizing is on-par with reality. That is not coincidental, but ordained!

[ THIS IS SO EXCITING TO DISCUSS YAY!!!!! ]

So you say. It may perhaps be knowledge to the gods, but I do not place my faith in anything that has not been rigorously tested against the scientific method. It will be through mortal means, and for mortals that I attain such knowledge, because I am one myself and have no intention to rise above my station.

Still, presuming that we are from separate universes, I agree that it is interesting that their presumed structures are similar. However, that does not preclude it from being a mere coincidence. A sample size of two is hardly data worth analyzing.

Why not? To me, science seems a form of faith; one that was created to explain a preferred result that allows mortals to refute that would indicate they have no control or authority over an end result. Is that not bias, then?

[ he's smashing keys so hard and fast, like a weirdo ]

OH!! My sample size is, at minimum, thirty! I have origins in Egypt, and existed in another world before being summoned by LILITH. I bet we could ask everyone here about their worlds. I am wholly confident that all existence is derived from the cosmic sea, but it could be fun to explore what others think!

crawls back in here...

You may certainly consider science a faith founded on evidence and rigorous testing, but it is patently false to say that it grants us no control over our environment. Research is the method by which we understand the laws of the universe, and with that knowledge, we learn to manipulate the natural forces to achieve our desires.

[ It's alright. Ratio is matching him with energy and enthusiasm. They can be weirdos together. ]

Indeed, it would be worthwhile inquiry to pursue. I am certainly curious to know how other universes have been conceived.

That is what I am saying. A god has no need to utilize your sciences to understand the law of the universe — we were made by existence to serve as the law and command and order of it. Which is not to say I cannot appreciate the methods you would use to come to conclusions of your own, even when they are deeply incorrect!

[ he will NEVER let go of his anti-multiverse stance, but it'll be fun to listen to ratio! ]

I can provide you my own primary sources, but tales of other universes I have come to know of will be secondary.

You speak as if all we've discovered for ourselves is incorrect.

[ Ratio cannot accept the word of a single individual, even if said individual is a god with a connection to the truth of the universe. Perhaps he is correct in his own universe, but Ratio does not believe it applies to all universes. ]

It is enough for a primary exploration into the topic. To begin with, the concept of multiple universes was nothing but a fanciful flight of thought because it was empirically impossible to disprove. Even now, I am not wholly convinced that this universe is separate from the one I know. But that is why I seek knowledge; to understand the true nature of this planet and the space it inhabits.
