I'm Zagreus, one of the newly arrived, nice to meet you all.
I just have a question, does anyone have access to any fire resistant footwear?
Sandals or er, sneakers? Is that what they're called? Anything is fine.
Or if anyone has any suggestions on how to prevent surfaces from burning when I stand on them, I would greatly appreciate it.

How do you feel about magic? There's a few people around that might be able to help you with that if you're alright with it.

I don't mind magic, no, but I'd be a little concerned for the caster.
This would technically need to be done daily, or at least, whenever I leave the base.
I'd hate for them to have to expend any more energy than necessary to maintain the spell, should I go down that route.

Well, it may have been easy to miss at the beach, but my feet are er, unnaturally hot?
They're not technically on fire, per se, but they're hot enough to scorch surfaces.
The base is fire proof, but I'd rather not cause my workplace to burn down or something.

I'm afraid I don't have a spell that makes fire resistant footwear...
But I wonder if you might have luck with "firefighters" in the city?

I'm from the Underworld; fire and brimstone is sort of our thing, you see, so there wasn't anything to worry about there.
During the times I made it up to the surface, it was still winter, so the snow helped a lot in terms of mitigating potential damage.
Verdure is my mother's domain, so I just assumed it was her latent powers that protected her garden. Admittedly, I couldn't spend a lot of time there to begin with before the Styx would take me.

It's all right, I know it's an oddly specific request.
You know, I haven't considered that. If they fight fires, surely their gear would be at least moderately fire resistant.

As for why they're on fire, I was born with it. The only time they weren't alight was when I died.

Given the state of affairs outside the base, I don't want to potentially cause any further damage.

I was stillborn when my mother gave birth to me.
Thankfully, Nyx was able to bring me back to life and from then on, my feet were always like this.

That was my thinking, too.
I don't know if they would be fashionable or anything, though... If that's the kind of thing that you care about.

[ unfortunately, zagreus is unaware of what feet pics really mean, so toji will get sent a picture of zag's feet. they're shaped regularly, except they're colored like hot coal, a bright yellow-red. the ground beneath him looks a little burnt. ]

In a way, yes.
I'm bound to the Underworld, so even if I die, I'll always wake up back at the house.
I don't think it works the same here, though, and I'm not too keen to test it.
