[ Lucy is a bit, let's say, out of sorts after her surgery. She's tried getting up and walking out of the medical bay, but it does her a fat lot of good with her body aching every time she so much as twitches in a way it doesn't like. And that's saying nothing of the sharper pains that serve as the aftermath. ]

someone get me out of here

I can't take another second in here

[ Now, the question is, will whoever answers

A. take her back to her room

B. convince her to stay put in bed

or

c. will she be gone by the time someone shows up and thus be somewhere in the hall in an ill-advised fit of stubbornness? ]

[ When he arrives, She's already got her legs dangling over the side of the medical bed. The only thing keeping her from walking away is the risk of another fainting spell. She tried to put her feet on the floor but...yeah, that wasn't happening. ]

Ah, Kaede--

[She looks in no shape to walk, and Raidou hurries over.]

Don't get up. Lay back down.

[He'll help her to if she's too dizzy, and offers a hand.]

I can heal you. Just stay still, alright?

[ She grunts, displeased, but she has no energy to fight his command. He's here to help, after all. She can put up with this uncomfortable room for that much longer, at least.

She still sighs about it even as she lies back down, the back of her hand over her eyes. ]

I wonder how long it'll be before I can do that healing too.

Not long. But you need to rest and get your energy back first. They can heal the wound, but not that.

[Raidou closes his eyes. He finds that concentrating helps him with it, too. Like subconsciously spurring the little nanobots on.

He knows how bad the surgery is, though, going for even after Yuji warned him about it.]

It might not seem like it at this moment, but I promise you that it's worth all this. It's let me help so many people.

[ Lucy stays quiet for a time, listening, thinking. If she'd had the full breadth of her power, she could try to train her vectors to do that healing skill she'd performed for Kouta. No sense in bemoaning that now, she supposes. This surgery will be better in the long run. Easier on her body, more effective, and if she helps others, perhaps things will be different. A life spent killing can slowly become more than that.

I hope it is.

It is. Yuji helped me, now I get to help you, and you'll get to do it to the next person. And once battles are over, you can help everyone.

[When you awake from surgery, it's easy to immediately feel regret about it. The pain is overwhelming and disorienting.]

Though... [She can hear the smile in his voice, even if she's not looking at Raidou.] Needing to sit and hold everyone's hand for awhile does take some getting used to.

[ Helping everyone. Part of it still rankles her but...she nods all the same. ]

I'll get used to it. [ Although- ] As long as I don't have to hold a clammy or sweaty hand.

[He smiles a little. Even if she's not looking at him, Lucy can hear it in his voice.]

Afraid you're not going to like healing people after a mission, then.

It can be tricky when it comes to healing yourself, though. So if you're hurt and still having trouble, don't hesitate to ask, alright?

[ She sighs, but the sound is dragged out, dramatic. ]

Damn. Oh well. [ She smirks a bit, a short hum of a laugh following. The next part she keeps vague. Does she mean having to hold hands with strangers? Or having to ask for help? She doesn't want to say, but odds are it's both. ] Guess I'll just have to learn to deal with it.
