[Heroes are awesome! Only villains (most of them) think otherwise. And some jaded civilians. And a society that lost their faith in heroes thanks to the villains and underlying problems.

I used to know.
[But now, the notion of "the best" has evolved and matured since his entry into U.A. He has no intention of losing to his classmates in any endeavor, he wants to be greater than even All Might (despite knowing in his heart he'll always hold All Might as greater than himself), he wants an amazing track record of success as a Pro Hero, he wants a world at peace without suffering even if that's an idyllic and stupid reality to strive for, he wants people to look at him and acknowledge he's the greatest hero!
