[It'll only be a little bit until she can help him get a proper prescription. Just enough to help him sleep at night; he doesn't want to keep her awake with his restlessness.

A decision that would both warm his heart and break it, honestly. He doesn't want to be the cause of her missing out on living a normal life back home with her family again, for being the impetus for her to give up everything she is for the sake of one shoddy, dubious god. She deserves better than that. A proper home, a calm life, a family of her own... Things he probably won't be able to give her.

But for now, they can be each other's support. Their reason for being. There's nothing wrong with that.

It's better than basing it off how much help they can provide to this world. Otherwise they might slowly go crazy from trying too hard to make a difference. Sometimes it's not the huge wins that matter so much as the smaller successes each day.

Such as staying curled up together like this. Warming heart and body while he slowly heals from injuries both physical and mental. Going full out aramitama cost him so much energy and part of himself, it'll be some time before he fully recovers. And Hiyori's love and affection speeds up that process in a way that's almost tangible.

Turning his head, he nuzzles up against her, lips brushing over her cheek. Not initiating anything deep, but merely showing her how much he loves her. How much her presence means to him, now more than ever. Every day, she saves him a little more from the guilt and self-loathing that threatens to creep back up on him. If anyone is necessary in this world, it's her.]

Heh... I'm glad. If there's one thing I've learned, it's that being a fighter isn't the be-all and end-all to making the world a better place. It truly does take all manner of people. [Especially people who are compassionate and loving, like her. Proof of which he receives in the form of kisses that make him warm all over. Or maybe that's just the fever. Laughing softly, he returns the gesture with a smile.]
