Hello, my name is Shoto Todoroki and I'd like to cook a few things and learn a few recipes.

I don't have much in the way of recipes to share, but if anyone knows anything other than pie with apples, I'd like those and am willing to make fair trades for the information. Any leads on where I can get those ingredients as well, synthetic would be fine, or substitutes would be fine. I'm still learning and I think I'm bound to make a mistake or two until I learn better. That's why I'm alright with synthetics for now.

I guess any recipes or tips on cooking would be welcome. My best friend Bakugo has tried to teach me, so I have some good basics to fall back on.

If you need lessons in cooking, I'd be happy to help. Though my methods might be a bit... old-school. Do you like quail and vinegar?

Together or separately? If either I've never had it. I'm guessing you mean quail as the food and not as a pet. I haven't had it as a pet either.

As someone who's scolding Yato (and everyone else) near constantly, Bakugo must be the kind of kid who looks out for others. Or that's how he sees it anyway.]

Together! Gazechi-ae involves taking a quail or other small bird and basting it in soy sauce before frying them up and dressing with vinegar. Though I guess it'd be a bit mean to cook a pet, even if you COULD.

[That's the BFF Bakugo alright and Shoto wouldn't be afraid to tell anyone how caring Bakugo really is. Even if Bakugo would make likely a noise and a threat of some kind in return.]

He means well, even if he sometimes says it a little harshly. Bakugo looks out for all of us back home in his own way. He's encouraging and wants us to do the best for ourselves, too.

Oh. Yes let's not cook a pet. I'm sure we could find something? I would like to learn this. It sounds good. It sounds a little complicated, but you could show me, right?"

I'm in the kitchen often. I like to try baking myself when I have the time, and Bakugo has been a great help to me, too. I'd be more than glad to impart what I've learned.

I work a few nights a week at the Hanabi izakaya as a cook as well. I'm often trying to improve on my ramen recipes, and will be in the kitchen here testing them out. If you're interested in learning that, I'm also glad to share, so long as you can help give me honest feedback with some taste testing.

Oh hey, you must be one of those classmates Bakugo told me about. You're the super strong one, right?

[Absolutely terrible joke, he can fully guess which one Todoroki actually is based on his username.]

I'm pretty basic when it comes to cooking, but my buddy Yzak is real keen on it. I bet he can give you some pointers.

[And he's probably just about as patient a teacher as Bakugo is!]

Oh, no. Some of the more advanced things I haven't picked up yet, that's all. I know if I asked him again he would keep helping, but I want to learn things to make him, too, in the long run.

Oh, no that would be Sato or Midoriya. Maybe Kirishima. Probably Midoriya. It's nice to meet another of Bakugo's friends.

[Did he also mention that Shoto is about as bright as either of those three are strong?]

I haven't spoken with them yet, that I know at least. But I'm thankful for any pointers or tips, or demonstrations to learn from as well. What kind of basics do you know? Sometimes even learning from alternate views on what basic means can be helpful in more than cooking, too.

That sounds like Bakugo, being helpful.

[He recognizes the user name at least, which means he's seen the picture and does have vague memories of being too recluse himself not to have met very many people. That changes now.]

I'd appreciate it if you don't mind my watching you when you're in the common kitchen? I'd be happy to do whatever I could to repay the kindness. Even if you have lists of what you need from what store, I'll go get it. That's no problem.

hello shoto todoroki. bakugo is the best kind of friend one can have. congratulations. i learned how to fry tofu from him. i can impart that much if you wish.

I'd like that. Anything like that is exactly what I'm looking for. Do you have a name you prefer to be called, or just your user name?

Sure, that's okay. Sometimes it can be hard to find all the ingredients you might want on any given day, so I end up shopping for both the base and for the izakaya a couple of nights per week. We can see what we can find, and go from there.

Sometimes I do go looking for more cooking equipment as well, in the junk shops and second-hand stores. I was planning on going with Bakugo sometime soon, and you're more than welcome to join as well.

i don't know if i am. but he helped me many times, and i cherish him for it. call me choso. i can find you some tofu easily. if there is oil and spicy things around, it is easy to do.

Oh, I see. I didn't think of that, I should have. That means that you change what you're making based on whatever they have in those weeks instead of a set menu?

I'd like that. Bakugo is always fun to be with, and a new friend is also nice. I'll also make sure to look out for anything that looks like cookware. I'm lucky that I can do basics without things like that. Are there any sorts you're missing?

I think I can say you are. If it's what I think it is, that's a recipe he got from my sister. If you're willing to teach me, I am willing to find the ingredients.

Correct. For both here and at the izakaya. Though there, I am mostly making ramen of different kinds.

We can always use more pots and pans, and more rice cookers. I'm fine with making it in a pot, but those automatic ones are great. [This Taishou era boy is a fan now.] With how many people are here, we could always use more. Noodle presses too.

[Shoto is making a mental list of what's easiest for the kind soul stepping forward to lend a hand with the others who are answering the call. It won't be forgotten.]

Anything to help free up your hands is what I'm understanding? I'm sure that I'll find something like that. My sister had a few of these things, but I didn't use them very often outside of the dorms.

the tofu has come full circle, i see. very well. i will teach you to the best of my ability, and your knowledge of the taste will help it grow.

I'd like that very much. It would make her very happy to know that other people were enjoying her recipe. Since Bakugo taught you then I think it would be pretty close.

Are there foods you like other than that one? Maybe not ones you cook but ones you just enjoy.

she sounds like a good sister. i'll do my best to make it delicious. i like donuts. anything bakugo cooks. mozzarella sticks. edamame. cup noodle. whatever kaito cooks. strawberries. shortcake. strawberry shortcake.

She is. She's a teacher and I think it helps her understand all the rest of her siblings better. I'm sure whatever you show me will be great.
